News this month is rather sparse - and so are the signs of spring. The Twins are supposed to open here in about a week and we still have several feet of snow on the ground.

Now to the gossip. Howie and JudyFrankel had their second daughter, Valerie Ann, on January 15. Ken Weg is the uncle. The Frankels are living in Newark, N. J., while Howie finishes up his internship at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. Dick Aronsohn has received an appointment as a deputy attorney general of New Jersey. He has been assigned to the division of pensions and the trial section. Dick received his law degree from Rutgers.

In case you missed it in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE several issues back, Jake Crouthamel has been named backfield coach at Dartmouth. Jake and Carol spent last year at Mercersberg Academy and before that they were stationed in Honolulu with the Navy. Mike Daley has received an award for outstanding sales achievement from the State Mutual Life Assurance Company. Mike has been selling insurance and living in Portland, Me., since graduation.

Mari and I spent an evening with Chuckand Sally Cole a week or two ago. They were definitely the healthiest looking couple in town, since they had just returned from a week on the slopes out in Colorado. The Coles have two daughters and Chuck is with the Lund Press here in Minneapolis. Also living here is Paul Godwin. He will receive his Ph.D. in Political Science this June from the University of Minnesota. Paul and his new wife Dorothy will be in St. Louis next year while he teaches at Washington University.

Dick Griggs, C.L.U., of Westfield, N. J., has been appointed assistant general agent of the Lee W. Rich Agency, New York City, of the National Life Insurance Company of Vermont. In addition, Dick was also named vice president of L. W. Rich Associates, Inc., which specializes in employee benefit and corporate insurance plans. He joined the agency in 1963 after three years as an agent and staff supervisor for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company.

In looking over the address cards that the college sends, I see that some of our classmates are living in the darndest places you ever heard of. Don't know what they're doing there, but at any rate: Dave Greenstein is in Beckoba, Tanzania; Gordon Haw is in Ascension, Paraguay; George Rodgers is in Glattbrugg, Switzerland; Paul Sitz is in Kigoma, Tanzania; and Dave Hiley is in Chatham, N. J.

Cliff Russel was married in February to the former Louise Bennett, of Bel Air, Md. Cliff, as reported last month, is at Harvard as is his new wife.

From the greater Chicago area we see that Walt and Sara Freedman now have two young daughters and are now living in Winnetka. Walt is head of data processing for Sara Lee, Inc. The Freedmans were recently visited by Jim and Michen Hauser and their three little ones. Dr. Jim has been interning in Wichita, Kan., and will soon join the Army, being stationed in San Antonio over the summer and then Alaska - next winter. Lars and Mary Lofgren are also living in the Chicago suburbs with their almost year old son Kurt. Lars is a salesman for Kimberly Clark.
