NOVEMBER 1966 ROBERT Y. KIMBALL, FRANK ETTARI

This report is being written just prior to the big Princeton weekend so we shall have to defer the names of those in attendance until the next column. Everything is shaping up well, however, and a good time should be had by all. Even the weather seems to be cooperating and the foliage is by far the most vivid and beautiful we have seen in our four years of Hanover living. I hope that many of you will have an opportunity to take a look.

First item on the agenda is a report on Thomas "Gus" Gillaugh, whose New England Life Insurance Agency in Dayton, Ohio, was named best in its class for 1965. Congratulations, Tom - and I cannot resist the temptation to remind you of the appropriateness of the gift, a lovely colonial clock. From our old days as roommates, I well remember that waking up in the mornning was not one of your strong points. With your proven ability to set sales records, eta., I guess we can give credit to your good wife Al for straightening you out in that department.

Another report on Dick Esperon who continues to make Eastman Kodak happy with his performance in their Spanish and Portuguese operations. They are now the fastest-growing units in the company's International Market Division. On the education front, Don Wales, a teacher at Milton Academy in Massachusetts received his degree of Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at Wesleyan University. I believe Don intends to continue teaching at the Academy.

Charlie Fortunato recently opened his own insurance agency in Wethersfield, Conn., following fifteen years in the industry. Charlie is a former director of the Hartford Life Underwriters Association and an officer in several similar organizations. ArtHarrison was recently promoted to vice president of Radio Station WWRL in New York. Art and his family live in East Meadow, Long Island. Walter Wolk, who must keep pretty busy as president and founder of the Dynamic Chemical Company and a partner in the Wolk Travel Agency, has decided to add another ingredient to his life and is running for Judge of Probate in the November elections. Will be following your progress, Walt, and wish you the best of luck in your campaign.

Eugene Bronstein has been named vice president and general merchandise manager of Filene's in Boston. With Filene's since 1955, Gene has steadily progressed through the giant store's levels to this important post. Bill White was elected treasurer of Consolidated Foods Corporation in Chicago following ten years' service with the firm and election to assistant treasurer in 1955. Joe Hoagland has been admitted as a general partner of Delafield and Delafield in New York City.

Dave Whipple is attending the National War College at Fort McNair, Washington. Dave works for the Department of State and is enjoying his opportunity to get back to the books. With only 140 students appointed, one-fourth each from the military services and one-fourth from civilian Government agencies, I can imagine that the competition is quite tough. Brief note from Chris Gianola to Frank Ettari regarding his enjoyable life as a junior high school teacher in White Plains, N. Y. The Gianolas have five children ranging from two to nine years. Final note from Saul Nirenberg who left Safe-in-Suds, a shirt manufacturing company, recently and has moved down to Wall Street with L. F. Rothschild. That's quite a switch, Saul, and I can imagine that you're rather busy at this point. He mentioned that he recently lunched with Gil McDowell, "our man with Smith, Barney."

I think I should point out that many of these notes came from Frank Ettari and accompanied dues payments for the current year. We very much appreciate the notes and particularly your willingness to pay dues. Frank tells me that quite a few are delinquent at this point and this is certainly one area where the class should be strong. It doesn't take much energy, and very little money, to correct this situation so why not sit down and write out a check for our treasurer. All notes received with checks are forwarded to Hanover and are much appreciated.

Happy to say we were able to fill the column with news reports and can refrain from editorial comments. Keep up the good work and the news.

Best regards from the hills.
