Stan Waterman is '46's answer to "Captain Nemo." His is the job of jobs — he provides underwater photography and diving facilities in Nassau, Bahamas. Operating through the Fort Montagu Beach Hotel, Stan uses his own specially built boat, the Zingaro, for this work. This sounds like the greatest; must be a little tough focusing with a barracuda setting the shutter speeds for you, but then where else can you get such good submarine sandwiches. Stan and Susy have a boy George, 3, and a little girl, Susanna, 2. Thanks to Bob Kimball's questionnaires that you are sending back with your dues, we learn these interesting bits about your life pursuits. Big Ed. McLaren is director of industrial relations for the Joy Mfg. Co. The Macs have two boys, Keir and lan, and a girl Leslie. I'd guess Ed squares those kids away pretty much like he handled the mavericks of Topliff. Remembering those Navy days brings a vision of the guy who introduced the "Mamba march step" to the Columbia Midshipman School Saturday reviews (at least they called it the Mamba) and this guy is none other than Harvey White. Harv, following you around South Field Teally made the trip worthwhile. Harvey's married and they have Marion, 6, Stanley, 4 and Edward, 1. Harvey is salesmanager for a firm in Boston. Charlie Luberger is doing market research analysis work for one of the finest petroleum companies in the U.S. - Continental Oil Co. How are things in Ponca City, Charlie ? The Lubergers have a boy and girl, Anne and Charlie Ill.

John Alden has what reads like a 24-hour base covering job. He is vice pres. of Alden Products Co., and, with his hat on the other way, he is president of Alden Electronics Co. This must keep the internal revenue boys close to their ouija boards. John lives in Needham, Mass., and the Aldens have a baby girl Elizabeth. Do any more sailing John? (Always enjoy the thought of that all-day hike to Mascoma freshman year, to free-load the use of the DCYC dinghies.) As the U.S., Franco, and Alfonso the Pretender are all accord and harmony, we find Steve Olko making his dollars mean something in Madrid. Steve is a port engineer for the Spanish Navy bases. He finds Spain interesting for spare time sight-seeing, and he is on Mr. Berlitz's home court studying the native language.

Traveling the "Bop Belt" Fred Wilmot is pushing Columbia Records. He is a bachelor who claims he's balder and fatter. "Ginza" says, quote, "Enjoy a few liquid calories with Atlanta alums, see quite a bit of Jug Agry '45 and his lovely wife. Sorry I missed the group at the fabulous 5th in 1951 - but count on me for the terrific 10th. As we say in the record biz, 'A cool Yule and a Frantic First to all,' " unquote. Gene and Betty Bossi are living in Hanover where Gene is doing a residency in Medicine at Mary Hitchcock. Gene gives news of Charlie Cunningham who I've been trying to locate. Charlie is doing a residency at Hitchcock, too. Also up there to Complete the trio of '46 doctors living the good Hanover life is Bob Clifton.

Henry Smith, who is a Professor of Forestry at the University of the South, recently gave a paper to the October meeting of the Society of American Foresters in Milwaukee. The title of this paper was, "Tree Grades as a Silvi-cultural Tool in the Management of Cumberland Plateau Hardwoods." Whew! woodsman, spare that tree.

Christmas cards brought out a few words from the lads. Jack and Ruth Howard are confirmed Indiana home owners. And daddy Howard is oiling up his stop watch for the expected arrival of "Number 4." They are building on to their house. Try a bottom bureau drawer, Kayo style, Jack, in lieu of a new room. Bud and Molly Scheu beamed in on a very warm-spirited card, each holding one of the little Scheus. Bud continues to boom with Scott Paper Co. in Phila.

Had a nice call from Dick Allen reporting his new little girl Rebecca, 8 pounds of joy for the Aliens in Stuyvesant Town. Dave andJean Weld's card wins the all time award for re-usable value; the kids really liked opening each flap to look at reindeer rumps. The Kimballs came up with an original drawing of their new home; who takes the "Famous Artists" course? The Santa Claus of the south, Philbo Stedfast and Dot say come see us in Columbia, S. C.; the four Snickenbergers came in loud and clear from Ithaca; Doctor Nickand Popgun Vorys has a picture of their two on a card sending greetings from Columbus. Jack and Jean Whitman "Noel-ed" in from Wellesley with reports of a real "old-fashioned" Christmas, no orange peel in mine, thank you. Aud and Vel Brindley now live in White Plains, and Aud struggles across the street to his office with General Foods. The IBM kids Grete and John Rankin say Merry Christmas from New Hope, Pa. Frank Ettari sent a coal for my stocking, the Hal Bowmans are five now and call Dallas home. RalphSmith remembered the season with a nice card addressed from the Dartmouth Club bar, and Obe Obermayer kicked off the New Year with a nice etching from New Orleans. Which reminds me, Happy New Year and Good Night.
