All Dartmouth men join in extending heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of our classmate Eric Muller, shot and killed in Vietnam in September. We pray that a prompt peace may spare the lives of the thousands of Americans fighting abroad, including an increasing number of sixty-sixes.

In recent months we have received word that Lt. Jim Campbell has arrived in Di An, Vietnam, after stateside assignments. The Army has commissioned John Delander and Barrett Ripley second lieutenants, upon their graduation from the Engineer Officer Candidate School at Ft. Belvoir, Va.

Army Private Tom Steinmetz completed an eight-week administration course at Ft. Knox, 2nd Lt. Bob Haile graduated from the Armor Officer Candidate School, 2nd Lt. Bill Bryan completed ordnance training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., 2nd Lt. Tom Wilson graduated from the Army Transportation School at Ft. Eustis, Va., Private Tom Wargo completed advanced infantry training at Ft. Dix.

Second Lieutenant Bob Fogerty graduated from Officer Training School at Lakeland AFB. Ensign Bob Wilson has almost completed his flight training at the Naval Air Station at South Weymouth, Mass. Army second lieutenant Charles Wadell has completed a quartermaster officer course at Ft. Lee, Va.

Congratulations of a different sort go to Allen Keiswetter who recently in Washington was sworn in as a Foreign Service Officer of the United States. Al competed with eight to ten thousand other candidates in written and oral examinations for the 200 positions open. He soon will be assigned to a position with an embassy or consulate in one of the 119 countries with which the United States maintains diplomatic relations or with the Department of State in Washington. Following graduation Al spent a year at the Johns Hopkins School of International Relations in Bologna, Italy.

We're still catching up on nuptials, and it's a pleasure. On July 29, Scott Wright and Mary Anne Preston were married in Philadelphia. Mary attended Roanoke College and McGill University, and Scott is studying at the University of Pennsylvania Med School. New York University Law student Dave Chamberlain and Ruth Godston, a graduate of the University of Connecticut, were married on July 8 on Staten Island.

Brookfield Center, Conn., was the site of Jack Garamella's marriage to Judith Nelson on August 19, with Jim Everett serving as best man. Judy is a graduate of Pembroke and has an M.A. from Northwestern. She will teach while Jack attends Northwestern Law School.

Barbara Jean Oveneen, a graduate of Mary Hitchcock, married Wayne Hill in Sherborn, Mass., in August. They are living in Rockville, Md. In the first week of September Phil Wade and Barbara Sue Jackson, a Colby Jr. alumna, went to the altar.

Bill Rose and Alexandrine Gerard Rust were married on September 2 in Milton, Mass. Fraternity brothers Roger Kline, JeffRogers, and Al Ryan were in the wedding party. Bill and his bride, a Smith graduate, are back in Hanover where Bill is a teacher and research assistant.

Terry Ruggles and Anna Van Inwegen Cuddeback were married in an evening ceremony on September 2 in Amherst, Mass. John Gantz was best man. The marriage was fated. Terry is a fifth-generation Dartmouth man (his father is a '37) and Vanna's is a '28. The couple is living in Boston where Terry attends BU's School of Public Communications.

Dartmouth Med School grad and third year Harvard Med School student Dick Kaiser is engaged to Debra Fink, a senior at the University of Massachusetts. Deerfield instructor Bill Duval is engaged to Barbara Brewer Folino, a student at the University of Vermont. Alan Kanter, beginning his second year at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, is engaged to Abby Finston, a Smith sophomore. Dave Patrick, attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is engaged to Beverly Tarbell.

Ensign Gus Pratt, aboard the "USS Fort Mandan," is engaged to Nancy DeBard. Goucher College senior Barbara Anne Sackin is engaged to Tufts Med School student BruceBerger. From Columbia Med School comes word that Harry Greenberg is engaged to Diane Stein, a senior at Barnard College. Tom Brady, working toward his master's degree in materials science at Thayer School, is now engaged to Smith senior Frances Elizabeth Carson.

Tim Urban is completing work for his master's in city planning at the University of North Carolina, and he's now engaged to Toni Oster, an Atlanta girl also at UNC. Other '66's at Greensboro are Sehr Oswald and Bob Page. Kip Minaert, at Vermont Med School, is engaged to Jane Marilyn Gorman, a junior at UVM.

Ted Amaral is a Peace Corps volunteer in Afghanistan. ... Ned Grew is studying the geological formations around Worcester, Mass., for a Harvard doctoral thesis.

Bruce McKissock and Bill Bower joined Pete Barber on an alumni Softball team around Philadelphia which finished second in league play. Pete, after receiving an M.S. in education from Penn, worked as Assistant Director of Admissions at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. In early October the Army beckoned and Pete was called.

Hope to see a good '66 representation at Princeton, when the Indians put the finishing touches on another great grid season.
