At the Harvard game, more often than not with wives, there were seen either at the tailgate party or in the stadium, Butler, Hoxsie, Fletcher, Stayman, Godwin, Stearns, Leahy, Chase, Pooler, Downey, Frederickson, Dresser, Brazil, Barnard, Ryder, Condon, Rich, Carroll, Schneebeli, Blanchard, Holme, Marsters, Bowlen and Butterworth.

Bill Fletcher has retired from the Carter's Ink Company. Son Miles, a senior at Amherst, spent last year in the East-West program of the State Department at the University of Hawaii. Sam Stayman, partner in Strand and Company of New York, made a rare appearance, stimulated partly by the fact that daughter Nancy is at Simmons, and she joined him and her mother at the game. Herm and Mary Lou Schneebeli were also attracted by virtue of having a daughter working in Cambridge on an urban renewal project. Chick and Helen Pooler decided suddenly that the game couldn't be missed and flew in from Boca Raton. Liz Doherty and Babs Alien , were also in attendance. Dartmouth won the game.

We have missed Carl Haffenreffer at the games this fall, but he has been through a cataract operation, is doing nicely and hasn't let that interfere with his election to president of Narragansett Brewing Company, succeeding Pete '25 who has retired. Narragansett is Number 1 in New England and Carl will keep it that way with our help. He is also a vice president of Falstaff Brewing Corporation and he and Carol are on the active list of most everything that is happening in Rhode Island.

Jerry Lichter's letterhead identifies him as president of A. J. Siris de Mexico, fabricates de productos de vinyl, including borlas de velour and borlas de suave foam. Jess writes: "We have an informal Dartmouth Club here which meets for lunch and on rare occasions, such as Dartmouth Night, permits the wives to attend. I hate to say it, but it won't be long before I'll be the oldest living Dartmouth alumnus in Mexico.

"P.S. Bilingual secretaries are almost impossible to find, so my English correspondence must be done by an amateur — me. Excuse the sloppiness."

Charlie Adams sends best wishes from Kirkland, Wash. Although retired he hasn't given up golf. Tall Texas tale from Cupe Burns who claims that New Braunfels is unique in having a nine-hole golf course with every three holes ending up at a bar where cold German beer is served.

Bill Fenton recently attended the annual Conference on Iroquois Research and observes: "The Very Little Water Society, a parody on one of the Iroquois Medicine societies, is a tradition with the group of which the Class would approve. Perhaps the Class could send an observer to note the native rites. Son John, our Ph.D. candidate in Biochemistry at Cal-San Diego, was just home with family; and son Doug is following the Mohawks in high steel on Rocky's South Mall tower. Betsey has three kids and I guess that is all the news at this writing."

The Don Shaskans' youngest son Geoffrey was married in September to Janet Soares. First Lieutenant Lee A. Chilcote Jr. has received the Bronze Star with Combat V for participation in seven major operations with the Ninth Marines in Vietnam. Milt McInnes reports that their son Don is in Da Nang in the transportation service. Bill Wilson of San Marino, Calif., boasts of a first granddaughter, Allison, born to Captain and Mrs. John C. Bowman in Denver in August.

Congratulations to Charlie Rauch who has been elected president of Connecticut Savings Bank, second largest savings bank in New Haven with eight branches. Charlie joined the bank in 1952 and was most recently executive vice president and treasurer. He has served as president of the Dartmouth Club of New Haven and the Class of 1930 and is vice president and a director of Family Service of New Haven.

Bill Brown appears to be a retiree, having moved from Kansas City to what must be the fictional town of Chuckatuck, Va., and Bill Luttrell's new location at Villa Siesta Retirement Village, Austin, Texas, says something about his present status. George and Helen Morris traveled to California this summer for the marriage of Navy son George to Wave Georgeen Estes. 1930's only entry in this year's freshman class is Richard Wooster, son of Jack Wooster.

Season's Greetings to you all.
