Dr. Henry E. Meleney continues his habit of annually being chosen to receive some special award. This year he received the Walter Reed Medal of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at its annual meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 3. This was the 17th award of the medal established in 1936 to recognize meritorious achievement in Tropical Medicine. The medal commemorates the 1900 discovery of the mosquito transmission of yellow fever by the Reed Commission. of the U. S. Medical Corps in Havana, Cuba. In the presentation, Dr. Meleney's work in China and his leadership in programs for medical school teachers to obtain practical experience in tropical medicine in the American tropics were especially mentioned. Ed and Genevra flew to Albuquerque N. M., to spend Christmas with son William and family. They expect to come north next June for Genevra's 50th reunion at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in New York, to visit son Henry who is Business Administrator of the Institute of Living in Hartford, Conn., and hope to get to '09's 58th reunion.

George and Florence Hinckley are spending the months of February and March traveling in Florida and Arkansas.

Mrs. Antoinette McLoud, widow of Anson, is with her sister Mrs. Isabelle Webster, Box 58, Vienna, Ontario. Canada who is recovering from a heart attack. Toni writes that she spent two months in that tobacco country last summer but now with snow on the ground and the cold and dreary waters of Lake Erie to look at things appear different. All '09ers hope Isabelle will be in good health soon.

Dr. James Hitchcock has been busy going over the accumulation of years as he gave up the old homestead and moved into a new home before it was finished. His address is still R.F.D. Greenville (Mason), N. H. 03048.

Harvey W. and Marjory Graves have moved into Apt. 501, 2470 East Ave., Rochester, N. Y. 14610 from their home on Lake Road, Webster, N. Y.

Dr. Francis H. Bird and sister Mary Dudley, widow of Ben, visited his daughter Harriett (Mrs. Orval R. Grigsby) at her home in California this fall. According to the reporter it was Mary's first air trip. Mary's home address is Upton Court, 630 East Ave., Rochester, N. Y. 14607. The Graves and Dudleys are on the same side of the street but separated by 1840 numbers.

Miss Eleanor S. Newton, daughter of Al, and her brother Edward have taken an apartment at 86 Sagamore Ave., Winthrop, Mass. 02152. Mrs. Charlotte Shoppelry, widow of Arthur, lives nearby at 252 Shore Drive.

Birthdays celebrated in February are: Henry B. Whitcomb (3), Wilbur I. Bull (3), George H. Hinckley (12), and Russell A. Pettengill (27).
