From Russ Willis comes word that, "My two boys, 24 and 26 years old, are both possible candidates for Vietnam but so far they haven't been called. Both are making their living in the selling field as their father before them has been doing all his life. They are both single, too, like their father was until he reached 92 years of age." (Editor's note: There is a slight exaggeration in that statement, it is almost certain.)

A note from Don O'Leary says that, "We had a nice letter from Angus Black and he sounded as though the operation at Hanover was a complete success. I think I told you that he and Gladys called on us last summer on their way to visit Perc Streeter."

The December 1, 1966 issue of The Hanover Gazette carried the following item about our Honorary Member, Pete Cavaney, "Edward M. Cavaney of Choate Road has been presented the life insurance industry's 1966 National Quality Award for excellence of service to policy-owners. A Career associate of the A. T. Hatch Agency of Manchester of the National Life Insurance Company of Vermont, Cavaney has won the award nine times. He is a charter and continuing member of the company's Presidents' Club and has also belonged to the Million Dollar Round Table for agents with annual sales of at least $1 million." What can we do except offer hearty congratulations to Pete?

On November 8, 1966, Ev Robie broke into print in Len Massell's column "On The Square" published in the Advocate of Stamford, Conn. Said Massell, "Everett E. Robie, retired principal of Glenbrook School, returned to Dartmouth College last weekend where he was honored by John Sloane Dickey, Dartmouth president, as a 50-year alumnus. Mr. Dickey hosted Robie at a .

dinner, and later had the Stamford man as his guest at the Dartmouth-Columbia football game. Robie, in turn, had as his guests at the game Fred Lione Sr. and Costa N. Karukas, principal of Ric.e School."

Just think, only once in your lifetime will you be able to attend your own 50th reunion! So, if you have not already made plans to attend this one in June, do so right this minute. You will enjoy seeing men you may not have seen for 50 years, and that's for sure! You will be royally entertained, and there's no' doubt about that! The men may look a little different than they did 50 years ago, but beneath their bald heads and behind their paunchy additions, they'll be the same old guys you used to know. So by all means, see to it that you get to Hanover to take part in our one and only 50th. We'll never have another!

Distaff Notes: Helen wrote some 200 notes at Christmas with particular messages to classmates and widows. You may be interested in some of the replies. From Sallyand Bill Sewall - "Greetings from Hudson and Merry Christmas to you all. Probably seeing you in June." From Ruby and Spique Maclntyre - "Happy Holidays and New Year brimming with health and happiness. Enjoyed our quickie visit and look forward to a real one in June. Keep Healthy." From Gil and Jane Swett, down Sarasota way - "Still remembering your lovely Vermont hills. Can't we show you some Florida beaches? At any rate, if you insist on staying snowbound, we'll be looking forward to seeing you in June."

And from Mary Gile - "I was sorry to miss the Woodstock party but the Cavaneys and I hope to be on hand for Reunion." And from Ruth Montgomery whose grandson is at Dartmouth —" - which makes me very happy. He is in Gile and says it's the best. I am very much aware of next June and certainly hope to make it." And a note from Dot Thompson - "Thanks for your Christmas card - it is so nice to hear from you and that you are well. I am working every day - keeps me busy. I follow all the doings of '17'ers - miss everybody. Doubt that I will make the 50th without Tommy. I would love to see you all, though." And the most fun is from the younger generation - a card from MottBrown's Barbara Holekamp - "We hope to see you in and around Hanover next June. Carl's 25th Reunion is one week after your 50th and we hope to be there in full force!"

Now to change the subject. Won't each of you assist me by sending me a bit of news so that this column can be made more interesting? It's a hopeless task to try and make up a column when you have little or no news to report, but if each of you will do your part, I will feel much better about the whole thing.
