Dick Welch, professor of history at Lafayette College and chairman of the interdepartmental program in international affairs, was recently given a superior teaching award by Lafayette. Dick is the author of two books and numerous articles concerning the federalist period of American history.

Bob Allen, former assistant secretary to the College, has been elected vice president of the Henry P. Kendall Foundation, a memorial to the founder of the Henry Kendall Company, Boston. Since 1959 he has been director of company public relations. A native of Lincoln, Mass., Bob served for seven years on the Town Planning Board. During his ten years with the College, he was also a contributing editor of the Alumni Magazine.

Perusal of the current alumni directory shows the following '45s active in alumni affairs: Alumni Council member-Ken Nicholson; club presidents-John Ormond (Louisiana) and GeneWilkin (Spokane, Wash.); Liaison officers-Val Schuler (Central Florida), Pete Habein (Montana), Bookie Joe Ashton (Glens Falls, N.Y.) and Ken Nicholson (Springfield, Mass.); Job placement chairmen: Paul Caravatt (New Canaan, Conn.) and Gib Jones (Utica, N.Y.); Academic affairs officer-Doug Donahue (Mass. South Shore); District enrollment directors: Jack Kugelman (Pensacola, Fla.) and BookieJoe Ashton.

Belated news of the May 11, 1973 death of Dave Davidson was recently received. The sympathy of the Class is extended to wife Jody and their three children.

Frank Hutchins is the chairman of the '74 Rochester N.Y. Communitay Chest-Red Cross campaign, again lending credence to the old saw about giving the job to the busiest man.
