Again, as I start to write this column, I'm scrounging for news items. If it weren't for the notes on the back of our dues slips, I'm afraid the column would be almost nonexistent! So please, take a minute and drop me a note.
Tom Green writes that he and Carol had their first addition to the family back in june... a boy, Spencer Jarrett. Tom is now in sales promotion with Jordan Marsh in Florida. He writes that the Florida division has stores in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, and a new one to open soon in Palm Beach. Tom was in London recently working on a British Festival for the store and ran into Bob Jaffe at the Mayfair's Beachcomber Club. Bob was in London for a Lentheric Convention.
Fred Pitzner and wife Nancy moved recently from an apartment on the near north side of Chicago to a new home in Northbrook, Ill. Fred has been promoted to full vice-president at American National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago. He has been with the bank since the fall of '58 and is now responsible for all the Data Processing Operations for the bank. He writes that this involves not only operations, but responsibility for all programmers and computer systems design. Fred ran into BillTindal recently. He says that Bill is now living in Perth, Australia, with his family. Bill is working on a construction project down there which, according to Fred, has been slowed down for lack of financing.

Chuck Solmes is living in Bedford, N. H. The Solmeses added a new daughter to their family back in May. Chuck is vice-president of the Manchester, N. H., Alumni Club.
Wallace Smith picked up his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School last June. He decided to go back to Harvard after working in the computer division of IBM in New York City for four years. The Smiths are now living in Evanston, Ill., where Wallace is working for the Boise-Cascade Corp. as an inventory systems manager. Dunn & Associates. He writes that the company is growing slowly and by spring will have seven full-time geologists on their staff. He and Ruth have three boys, Scott 10, Steve 7, and Dave 6. Bill says that all are skiers and the whole family spends as much time on the slopes as possible.
Got a note recently from our wandering former secretary, Bill Hartley. He writes that he's off to Paris next week, then to Madrid and Barcelona... possibly ending the jaunt with a trip to Munich. Sounds like a great life for one who loves to travel! He and Riecha have found an apartment in London and they're extending welcomes to all European traveling '58's. He says their apartment is great... in a house built in the early 19th century with balconies overlooking a small park. It's about three times the size of their New York apartment and about half the price! Sounds great to me ... when do we leave?
I apologize for the brevity of the column this month but I'm all out of news notes! Hoping to hear from you soon.
