With our Tenth coming up next year, DickFrisch has announced plans for regional reunions to be held this spring around the country. They're set up for the weekend of May 20 in the following areas: the Boston Area, the state of Maine, the states of New Hampshire/Vermont, the state of Connecticut, the New York City Area, the Baltimore/Washington Area, the Cleveland Area, the Chicago Area, the Minneapolis Area, the Denver Area, the Los Angeles Area, and the San Francisco Area. These are to be on an informal basis and you should all be hearing from your Regional Reunion Chairman soon. If there are any of you who will not be included in these regional reunions and would like to have a regional reunion in your area, drop Dick a note at 1718 Maple Avenue in Northbrook, Ill., and he will be glad to fill you in on all the details and give you a list of everyone in your area.
The Dick Portlands just announced the birth of their first girl. Laura Ann joined the Portland family early in January. Dick has recently been promoted to Department Head of the Magnetic Tape Department for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N. Y. He writes that this department is responsible for the manufacturing of all of Kodak's magnetic products. Dick mentioned that he finds his Tuck-Thayer background ideal for the technical supervision demands of this new job! To keep busy in his spare time, he has been officiating at high school football games and was recently elected to the executive committee of the Football Officials Organization in the Rochester area. He's also looking forward to officiating at some collegiate games this next fall.
The Plainfield, N. J., Common Council recently appointed Frank Blatz as second assistant corporation counsel assigned to the Board of Adjustment. Frank is a partner in the law firm of Blatz and Feiring in Plainfield. After serving three years in the Marine Corps, Frank went on to Harvard Law School where he picked up his LL.B. Besides his law practice, Frank is lecturing on commercial law for the American Institute of Banking and is also serving as counsel to the Warren Board of Adjustment.
Aaron Morrell is finishing work on his Ph.D. in Russian Literature at Indiana University. Aaron plans to take a job next year as Assistant Professor of Russian at the University of Virginia. He writes that his wife, Tamara, is going to Russia again this summer as a guide for students from the University of Indiana.
Bridge Badger writes that he EUld his family will be in London for another year. He is serving as Assistant Headmaster at the American School there.
The Don Whithams are now living in South Norwalk, Conn. Don is with the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.
The Bill Hildicks recently moved from Chicago to Grosse Pointe, Mich. Bill is now District Sales Supervisor for the Norden Company in Detroit. He writes that he has been spending some time recently racing a Formula Vee and a Porsche Speedster.
Simon Handelsman has recently been appointed buyer for the Kennedy Store Chain in New England. In addition to now buying for the entire store chain, Sy is managing the company's main store's University Shop.
Massachusetts Governor John A. Volpe has appointed Joe Slotnik as a State Member of the Brookline Housing Authority. Joe will serve four years. He is now on the Brookline Citizens Committee and is a former Brookline Town Meeting member. He is on the executive committee of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Greater Boston. Joe works for the Boston branch of the brokerage firm of L. F. Rothschild Company.
Dr. Mike McKeown writes that he's heading up a research facility in Chicago to investigate the electrocardiograms of unborn children and possibly relate the findings to congenital birth defects.
