Well, the ground hog came out for a look and was immediately frozen solid. As they say up here in the north country, it's so cold, the nails are popping out of the buildings as the wood contracts. Eh up.

Helping Uncle Sam's GI's handle good old c-rations by keeping their choppers in shape is Doctor Marty Quadland, now a captain in government service. After leaving Hanover Marty picked up his drilling license at Tufts Dental School in 1966. Following the reunion last June, Marty and Pat, along with daughter Kara (18 months) were inducted into the Army. Now they are located in Colorado Springs. Marty and family welcome any and all Big Greeners to stop in for a few days of skiing.

The Bert Barnets have added to their happy group domiciled in Memphis. Carol sent along word that Elizabeth Ann joined the tribe on Jan. 21 weighing in at 8 lbs. 1 oz.

Gene Gasbarro added to the mailman's burden this month by sending on a nice note from Johnston, R. I. Gene and Sandy (Middlebury '63) now share their wedded bliss with a young son and a bouncy daughter who arrived last September. In November Gene was appointed an assistant manager of a branch office of the Industrial National Bank of Rhode Island.

Before the good old alumni office begins to wonder about those news items I'd better get caught up. We've got a batch of new doctors. Brian Klinger was awarded a degree of Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and is situated just a few miles down the pike in Portsmouth, N. H. The University of Cincinnati Medical School conferred a Doctor of Medicine degree upon Frank Watkins last June.

Down in Philadelphia the Jefferson Medical College sent out three future medicare benefactors. Dave Bishop is interning at Mary Hitchcock while Paul Flynn is inteming at Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco. The third member, Newt Hammond can be found at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

Now in his third year at Yale University Law School is Paul Tsongas. Paul spent last summer in the office of Congressman Brad Morse from the Massachusetts fifth district doing research on African affairs. Paul was well qualified having spent Peace Corps duty in Ethiopia. Frank Kehl finished up his graduate studies at Columbia and spent the summer with 39 other graduate students working in Vietnam and Laos. This project was sponsored by the Agency for International Development.

Itek Business Products of Rochester, N. Y., developers of photostat equipment, announced the promotion of Cliff Smith to the position of House Account Sales Specialist. Cliff joined Itek in 1964 after picking up his Master's at Tuck.

For all of those who wondered where your engagement and marriage announcements went, read the following closely. Bryon Dallis popped the question and Lydia L. Vecchi of New York gave the affirmative reply and shortly they will be wed. Lydia is a graduate of Vassar and is presently a research analyst for Bache and Co. Inc., a N. Y. brokerage firm. Bryon can be seen counting the money of the Chemical Bank of New York Trust Co. Joining Bryon on the surrender list is Bruce Feldman. Sharon Lee Pearlman of Wyncote, Pa., has the good doctor all tied up. Sharon is now earning her master's at Temple University while Bruce, armed with an M.D. degree from Harvard, is interning at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

Bill Warrick said his "I do" to Elizabeth Werner of New York in December. Bill nabbed his master's at Columbia and is associated with G. H. Whittman, Inc. of New York, international economic consultants. Also hitched in December were Paula Parks of Short Hills, N. J. and Eric GordonDalrymple. The bride is a graduate of Briarcliff while the new groom is affiliated with IBM.

Dick Dils, now a faculty member at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, is ready to take the plunge with Margaret A. Williams of Hartford, Conn. The future Mrs. Dils is an alumna of Windham College. This coming June Don Miller, now Donald W. Miller, M.D., following his graduation from Harvard Medical School, will exchange vows with Miss Nell Crandell of Wellesley Hills, Mass., who is a senior at Smith.

Ed Goldstein will soon take Miss Ronna Jane Ginsberg as his bride. The prospective bride has studied abroad and is presently majoring in French at N.Y.U. Ed is now busy with the Colgate Palmolive Co. in New Brunswick, N. J. As Ed says, "We'll be a one toothpaste family."

Along with the ground hog, we await the arrival of old Sol. Give him our best.
