Bay Yee has been appointed as project director of Oceanic Properties' multi-million dollar Mililani Town. This is a planned urban community for 75,000 on the Waipio Plains near Wahiawa. It will be a network of homes, townhouses, and apartments with more than 200 acres of parks. Before moving into real estate, he was Honolulu general manager of Stanford Research Institute and was later executive vice president of McWayne Marine Supply. He says this new assignment is a real challenge.
Jim Cartmell was elected to the board of trustees of Porter Hospital in Middlebury. Jim is a vice president of Cartmell Sales and Service and a former president of the Middlebury Chamber of Commerce.
Ray Alexander was recently sworn in by Mayor John Lindsay as assistant commissioner of health for New York City. He will be in charge of the Medicaid Program for the city of New York which should make him popular with his doctor friends. Ray's background includes several years of administrative experience with hospitals in the New York area.
George KraH, manager of Manulacturing Engineering of General Electric's Flight Propulsion Division, has been assigned as head of a full-time task force to assure complete around-the-clock technical and production supervision. George is also chairman of the National Engineering Week for the Rutland County Society of Engineers.
Jim Kiley spent several weeks in Montreal calling on participants at the Expo. As a result, he saw virtually all of the pavilions before the Expo even opened.
Ed Spurgeon has been transferred by General Electric to the Industry Control Department at Salem, Virginia. He is currently Manager of Shop Operations. He and Trish will be moving into a new house in Roanoke this June. They also recently returned from a skiing vacation in Alta, Utah.
Ron Scheman's book "The Foundation of Freedom" was published by Frederick Praeger and is selling well. Ron is executive secretary of the Pan American Development Foundation which seeks to increase private participation in Latin American economic and social development.
Bob Foster has joined Fleuroma, a New York unit of Universal Oil Products Co., as assistant products manager. He is responsible for evaluating, testing, and selecting fragrances for cosmetics, toiletries, and household products in the industry. Bob had worked previously for International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc., in New York. He and Doris and their two boys live in Montclair, N. J.
Dr. Richard Davidson recently returned from Taiwan where he was senior Air Force physician on the island. A Major in the Air Force, his current tour is Chief, Aerospace Medicine at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
One marriage to report, Tom Philips to Johanna Charlotte Daneel on April 8 in the Netherlands. I received an elaborate multilanguage invitation which also stated that their future address would be Mt. Kisco, New York.
