I have been checking and cross checking my records, such as they are, trying to have a reasonably accurate listing of those who should be accredited to our 1903 class. I believe I can say with some assurance that we now start off this 1968-69 class year with 18 members.

In this connection I was asked about FredH. Brown. It seems that Fred or "Timmie" as he was known and Gink Ford were the only two of 1903 to make their college letter in freshman year. Fred Brown started off as a professional ball player for Boston in the National League. Shortly thereafter he studied law and practiced in Somersworth where he occupied numerous public positions. He was Governor of New Hampshire in 1923-25. In the 1924 National Democratic Convention his name was placed in nomination and received the votes of the New Hampshire delegation for many ballots. Thus (the record reads) Fred had the honor of being the only 1903 man to have been a nominee for President of the United States. He later served as United States Senator in 1932 and United States Comptroller in 1939. He died in 1955.

Pray Wadham in the fall of 1962, when at his own request and on his physician's advice, gave up his job as Class Secretary, turned over to me a set of cards which it is my understanding had been prepared by Ned Burbeck and later by Ned Kenerson. I am sorry to say that the cards were not kept up for some years. In the spring of 1965 questionnaires were mailed to our members but many were not completed and returned. Those which were completed have been very helpful and worthwhile. Any of you who will bring your record covering the last 25 or 30 years up-to-date and send it to me will be rendering a big help to your class secretary. Thank you.
