The Big Green lacrosse squad finished a long, frustrating season with an exciting 6-4 win over New Hampshire. Fighting all season to overcome inexperience and numerous injuries, the Indian stickmen finally broke away, after leading through the first half, and then trailing by two goals in the second, to tie the contest and win with a pair of overtime goals. Key to the reversal of fortunes was continued hard play and hustle. Seniors Wells Chandler and Captain Rob McCormick teamed up for a goal and assist each in the final quarter of regulation play to send the game into an Indian overtime win.

McCormick, from Baltimore, Md., who received All-American honorable mention last year, finished his Dartmouth career with a total of 104 points scored. Fellow senior Bill Rich led the scoring for this season, and both will be difficult to replace next spring. The healthy return of Captain-elect Jeff Norton on the defensive squad, along with sophomores Chuck Dorkey, Carl Andros and Dick Sammis, plus deep team experience could point to an improved record next year.
