A voice crying in the wilderness, the voice of the untried, following in the steps of Larry Syrames, Syd Ruggles, and Art Soule. Larry passed away in February. Syd and Art have resigned their respective posts for reasons of health. Thus we are working to replace the very core of our working force. Announcement of a new president is not ready at this writing, nor of someone to take over a part of Syd's duties. Be ready if called upon to offer your services.

To pick up where these notes ended, Syd's swansongs were the memorials to Alanson G. Alden and to "Life" Greeley which appeared in the June MAGAZINE. A Memorial to Henry Stone appeared in the July MAGAZINE. This, however, is the first mention of the three in these class notes. It is interesting to note that Henry and "Life" were schoolmates in high school, roommates in Dartmouth and died just three weeks apart. In that interval Henry had been assisting Syd to confirm some facts of "Life's" career. Haverhill High School had provided six men to '08: Harold Cogswell, "Life" Greeley, Jess Harding, Karl Pitcher, Henry Stone, and Bill Woodman.

In sorrow we announce two more classmates who have departed from us: JohnHarvey Gray, "Dolly" as we knew him, popular and loyal member of the class, died June 11. His wife, Jane Taylor Gray, died two days later. Phillip Laforrest Thompson, "Tommy" as we knew him, the second of the Tommies to leave us and tallest of the three, died July 19. Memorials to Dolly and to Tommy will be found on another page of this issue.

"Pop" Chesley has done it again. The alumni of Utica College, an affiliate of Syracuse University, have honored him as the year's "Honorary Alumnus," in recognition of his outstanding contribution to music in the city of Utica.

Stacey Irish writes that his eyes are healing after cataract operations. His wife, Bernice, had spent ten weeks in a hospital following a heart attack. They, have rented their apartment and are moving to North Shore Hotel. 1611 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Ill. 60201. New addresses: Syd Ruggles, 67 Padanaram Road, Danbury, Conn. 06810; Tom McAllister, Hancock, Mass. 01237.

Word has been received that TonySymmes, grandson of our Larry, has received the Junior Achievement Award.
