Christmas mail has held up to expectations. Henry Emery reports a great-granddaughter and a full family gathering around him and the little girl at Christmas. We remind Henry that the little girl will live to call every wheelchair which she sees, "Grandpa." He will enjoy it.
Charley Walker, who was forced to cancel his reunion reservations, because of a setback in his health, spent three days in Hanover in September. Charley has sold his heating oil business. In his coal business, he is selling out the coal and watching developments. Good luck to you, Charley.
Walter Furman and son attended both Yale and Princeton games. Rain washed out the Princeton game in the second half. Ex-08er, Joe Goodheart, keeps in contact. He has a new address, a retirement home at Route 2, Box 6, McDonough, N.Y. 13801.
Among our Christmas cards were several from our faithful ladies. Mrs. Cleveland Foote and her daughter. Mrs. Fales, have kept us informed of family progress, particularly daughter Barbara Fales, who entered Wheaton College after a try for Dartmouth. She is fluent in French and in Spanish, having lived in French and Spanish speaking countries, and is taking aim at the diplomatic service. Margaret Wilson, after attending Reunion and spending months with friends and relatives in the East, has arrived in San Francisco and been taken to a hospital in traction. Our sympathies to you, Margaret, and may you have a rapid and complete recovery.
