This will be one of your secretary's short columns. It would appear that no one reads them anyway, because no one has come up with a bit of news in the last month. If it wasn't for the Alumni Records Office clipping service, this section of the Alumni News would skip directly from 1940 to 1942.
There are, however, one or two items to separate our adjacent classes. The first of these concerns Rog Hoffman. Rog, who has been in the field of personnel relations ever since graduation, has purchased the Meady Personnel Service in Lynn, Mass., and will operate this employment agency in the Massachusetts-North Shore communities. Prior to his present undertaking, Rog was an employment consultant with Olney Associates in Boston, and before that he was industrial relations director for National Radio Company in Melrose, Mass., for 13 years. He is the author of a college text "Successful Handling of Labor Grievances" and numerous articles on personnel employment which have appeared in various trade journals.
Another clipping, dating back to early October, announces the election of Carl Krogh as executive vice president of Firth Sterling Corporation. Carl has been with Firth Sterling for 18 years. He joined them in 1950 as distributor sales manager. In 1957 he was named general sales manager of the tungsten division, and in 1965 was named general manager of the same division. He was elected a vice president in 1967.
An anonymous informant came up with a bit of news on Dr. Bob Patey. He lives in Springfield, Ill., and is chief of staff of the hospital there and associated with a medical clinic as well. He's the father of three girls and two boys. His oldest daughter is a senior at Knox College. His oldest son is a sophomore at the University of Michigan. His second daughter is enrolled at Boston University, and the youngest boy and girl are in high school. For relaxation and recreation, the Pateys play Bridge and, rumor has it, they have competed in some national Bridge tournaments.
That is it, group, except for the following address changes.
