In mv last article I described a Northeaster here Tn New England. Little did I realize fhat the monster would drop m excess of 56 inches of white stuff. The area was left without heat liahts, etc., for four days and the kids missed "three weeks of school. As a result of the storms, my poor Mary was suffering from a bad case of cabin fever.

Speaking of baseball, I remember very vividly a classmate of ours who was a fairly decent ball player, Ray Smith. In discussions about his baseball prowess, it was always agreed that Ray had a great pair of hands but was a little weak with the stick Being no slouch, the guy used his head and capitalized on his strong points. Recently Ray was appointed regional and commercial manager of Allstate Insurance Companies for the New England area. He will be located at the New England Regional Office in West Hartford. Ray, his lovely wife, and three children live at 290 Wolf Swamp Road, Longmeadow, Mass.
We all knew that you would put those mitts to good use, Ray! Congratulations and a job well done, and how well we realize that your customers are in good hands!!
Curly and burly Bob Herr of pigskin notority has been appointed manager of the Petroleum Division of the Chase Manhattan Bank. After his service time, Bob joined the bank in 1956, and was assigned to the Metropolitan Department. He was transferred to the Petroleum Department in 1958, where he was appointed assistant treasurer in 1961, and assistant vice president in 1964, and a vice president in 1966. Bob and his fine family live at 38 Shrewsbury Drive, Rumson, N. J.

Somehow out there in the Paradise of the Pacific, Paul Loo is able to concentrate on business and as a result has just been named assistant vice-president of Dean Witter & Company, Inc. He is assistant manager of one of the two Honolulu offices of the firm. He joined Dean Witter as an account executive in 1960 and became assistant manager in 1963. After graduating from Dartmouth, he went on to earn an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Finance at University of Pennsylvania.
Congratulations are in order for our own Dr. Dick Carleton who was a member of the team of physicians who performed Chicago's second heart transplant December 28, 1968, in Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital. Dick entered the field upon graduation from Harvard Medical School and has been a real credit to his profession over the years.
