Last month I reported that the winter season was a complete success in the New England area, . . . little did I realize that Mother Nature had no intention of bringing the season to a close. In the last five days Western Massachusetts, New York State. Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont have had snow falls from a minimum of 22 inches to a maximum of better than 40 inches. A Camelot to some, to others a real bore. I can see it now, the Mayor of Boston throwing out the first snow ball on April 6 to launch the Red Sox season. Laugh, you Southerners, but remember you too could be transferred to the cold country!!

Dave Stanley, vice-president of Union Mutual Life Insurance Company, has been elected a director of the Life Office Management Association for 1971 and appointed as personnel council chairman. The association enables Life Insurance Company administrators to exchange ideas and participate in research projects. Congratulations, Dave, I'm sure your fine family is proud of you as well as the class of "52."

And yet another insurance company is recognizing the fine talents produced by the class of '52 . . . Dick Dalbeck has been appointed vice president of planning and control at Union-Mutual. Dick will be in charge of the controllers' operation, corporate planning and marketing planning. Prior to joining Union-Mutual in 1969, he had been a principal in the management consulting Firm of A. T. Kearney Company, New York City. I guess you decided to practice what you preached, Dick?

Change of pace, gang . . . there's a v.p. in the banking game this month. Pete Vosburgh was elected assistant vice-president of the Connecticut Bank and Trust Company recently, following the regular meeting of the board of directors. Pete joined the bank in 1967 as a trust representative in the trust-new business division of the trust department. He was elected an assistant secretary in February, 1969, and transferred to the municipal finance department in October, 1970. Before joining CB.T, Dick was a sales representative for United Aircraft International. Dick, his charming wife and four children reside at 8 Rosenwell Road. Simsbury, Conn. Nice work, Dick!!

From the Quaker city, we hear that Pa' Gramm has been named a director of General Refractories Company. Pat lives in Chicago, and is presently vice president of Great" Lakes Carbon Corporation, serving as general manager of its Consumer Products Division.

Oop's another insurance flash!! Hustling Harvey Kelley is a proud member of the Penn Mutual's Royal Blue Club. To gain admittance to the Club one must establish roore than $2 million worth of life and health insurance for his clients. Hope they don't all get sick at once, Harvey??

An added attraction, gang: Bare Barclay and his lovely wife announce the birth of a son number two, Jeffrey Stuart, born on December 4th. Bare says that nearly ties the score of three girls and two boys. Mother and future "Greenie" are doing well. Congratulations, Mom and Dad, from the entire group.

See you next issue, gang, if you keep the cards and letters coming??
