The summer respite is always good for an accumulation of news, and summer 72 has produced a bumper crop of information about '6ss. Before you read any further please turn to the nearest classmate and give him a hearty pat on the back, then both of you give a cheer for Steve Waterhouse. That's the self-congratulations we deserve for a fantastic Alumni Fund showing behind Steve's leadership the best performance ever by a class seven years out, a Green Derby victory, and new '65 records in dollars, donors, and percentage of participation. Wah-hoo-oops!

From the summer mailbag comes these tid-bits:

It's a girl for Ted and Nancy Bracken. Genevieve (Jenny) was born on June 12 in Princeton, and she has all the markings of a real thoroughbred.

Jack Corneveaux writes that he is still with Bio-Logics Systems, Inc. in Salt Lake, now as the vice president of marketing. His firm manufactures computerized health testing equipment for use in hospital labs. He says that Utah is tops, especially for skiing and drinking.

Another of our rising corporate stars is Ted Atkinson, now the product manager on Bisquick for General Mills. He writes that six-month-old Tee has all the moves — the size of Buckley, the quickness ot McLean, and the finesse of Perinchiet. What kind of animal are they raising?

Ted also sent along a Minneapolis Tribune feature on Sandy and Daisy Ritter. Actually the article was on the phenomenon of the four-day work week, and Sandy, an architect with Eilerbe Architects in St. Paul, was a case in point. The story of his four days on, three days on schedule would make you drool.

The Russ Capelles have shifted their Rhode Island residence from Kingston to Wyoming (yes, Virginia, there is a Wyoming, R. I.). Russ spent the summer working on his dissertation for a Ph.U-from the University of Pittsburgh. He is an instructor in geography at U.R.I., where wife Pam is working toward her A.B.

Bob McConnaughey is now an associate of the Washington, D. C., law firm of Baker & McKenzie. The McConnaugheys, Keibles, and Mahoneys made a June trek to Hanover to chaperone the '66, '67, '68 reunions — our younger brethen performed admirably. Shades of the mini-fifth!

The University of lowa conferred a J.D. degree upon Garry DeLoss this summer, but his whereabouts remain a mystery.

A late spring wedding which didn't make these pages then was that of John Fletcher and Miss Joan Segur in Bryn Mawr, Pa. My last report on John (which was three years ago) had him in the Navy — all we know now is a Washington, D. C., address.

Peter Kilham picked up his doctorate in zoology at Duke in March, and he and Susan (also a Duke Ph.D.) are working at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.

The Bank of Delaware has retitled Tom Kirch senior trust investment officer. Tom has been with the Bank in Wilmington since 1967 and has risen through the ranks of assistant secretary and assistant trust officer to his present position.

Army Doctor Alan Munro has been promoted to the rank of Major, according to news from the Army Home Town News Center. The same source says that this pleasant event took place while Alan was serving with the Medical Field Service School, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he is an instructor with the Center's Department of Medicine and Surgery.

if you missed it in the July Alumni Mag article on Commencement, Sid Marshall and his. wife Halina both received doctorates from Dartmouth in June. His was in engineering science and hers was in psychology. Four generations of Marshalls, including their son Patrick, then seven weeks old, observed the dual festivities.

Bruce Cassel finished a two year postdoctoral stint at the University of Delaware in June. Bruce, Thyra, and son Dana (21) have moved to Connecticut where he is an applications chemist with the Perkins-Elnier Corp. in Norwalk.

The United States Section of the International College of Surgeons awarded Gerry Dericks, a third year medical student at Columbia, an undergraduate surgical scholarship. The grant enabled Gerry to study under two world famous surgeons in Tokyo and Taiwan during the summer.

There, I've blown all the news I had — please send more soon, or '65 columns this fall will provide Dartmouth alumni with more doodling space than any class in history. Oh, and circle some Saturday this fall to catch the Big Green in action. The early word from Hanover is that we are loaded — too early to say how strong, but another season of many more cheers that tears is inevitable. See you.

Happy days and peace.
