No need to fill the column with recipes this month as a few pieces of news filtered in since the last deadline, but I'll reserve that possibility for the future should it be necessary.

The February notes mentioned that Vic King had served as campaign manager last fall for the Plainfield, N. J., mayoral hopeful, but at that time I didn't know how his man fared. Well, shortly after the item appeared I received a short note from Frank Blatz '58, the successful candidate, who couldn't resist saying, tongue in cheek, that the class of 1958 always manages to stay one step ahead of the class of 1959. Thanks for the feedback, Frank.

Lee Ambrose reports he has been appointed to a three-year term on the Colorado State Highway Commission by Governor Love, and that he is still trying to pay for a trip he and Julie made to Europe last fall.

Benton & Bowles has named John Ferries a senior vice president, placed him in charge of the company's toiletries division and added additional management responsibilities. Have you seen the latest Crest toothpaste commercials featuring Bill Cosby? Well, John was involved in taping them which meant a trip to Cosby's palatial California home not too long ago. Harold Washburn left B & B and is now working for the Boston-based advertising firm of Marvin & Leonard. Now living in Cambridge, Hal reports the birth of a son, Thomas, last November 13. ,

Bob Worthington wrote to say he left the Army in August as a major, having served for ten years and most recently in Vietnam where he was twice decorated by the U. S. Navy for heroism. Bob is now studying for an M.A. in counselling psychology at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and expects to pursue a Ph.D. although at another school. He says in part, "The family is enjoying Northern Arizona. It is an outdoorsman's paradise. We have a jeep and travel trailer and try to go out camping or picnicking whenever possible. From where we live we can go north to be on the San Francisco Peaks in twenty minutes (elevation 12,000 feet) or head south and be in the desert in 45 minutes. Fishing is excellent around here for trout, bass, pike, etc. We will be sorry to leave, but as Anita says, the walls would tumble down if we lived in one house longer than one year."

Attorney Bruce Kalom lives in Hebron, Conn., with his wife, Sandra, and daughter, Becky, born last August. Bruce, who recently moved his practice out of Hartford by associating with a local lawyer, got his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1962 and spent two years as infantry officer, leaving as a captain. The new England Telephone Company transferred Jim Wooster from Pittsfield, Mass., to Boston where he is a management development supervisor, directing a one-year training program for newly hired employees. If telephone service in Boston is anything like it has been in New York lately, Jim will have his hands full. And a brief press release states that George Kelley has been appointed a vice president of Hayden, Stone Inc., an international investment firm, and will serve as a regional attorney.

1959 was well represented at the annual New York Alumni Fund dinner held March 30, as no less than sixteen classmates came to hear President Kemeny speak. This was probably the first time many of the over 800 alumni in attendance heard our new president, and I for one was impressed by his determination to meet and solve the many problems and changes facing the College today. All of us may not agree with every decision, yet it is clear that Dartmouth needs our individual support to maintain its overall position of being a great college. Please give this year's Alumni Fund careful consideration and give as generously as you can.
