Let me begin by extending the thanks of the Class and a long round of snaps to the outgoing Class officers who completed their terms in office this past June—Joe Stevenson, president; Bob Holland, secretary; Eric Eichler, treasurer; Skip Kerr, Alumni Fund head agent; Jim Dawson, newsletter editor; and John Blades, social chairman.

At the same time, let's extend a hearty welcome to the new officers: Dave Cook, President; Duncan Barnes, secretary; John Donnelly, treasurer; George Southwick, Alumni Fund head agent; AldenGifford, newsletter editor; and DonWhite, social chairman.

Ben Bixby, chairman of our 15th reunion, held June 18-20, submits the following report:

"The reunion committee was very pleased that the excellent weather and a fine schedule of events combined to make our 15th a very pleasant affair for the 65 alumni and families in attendance. Particular thanks go to our classmate Dave Orr for his assistance in making many of the details work smoothly.

"The major disappointment of the reunion was the low attendance. Prior attendance records by other 15th reunion classes suggested a turnout of 160 alumni might be expected. However, some reduction was thought likely due to the recent economic recession. The survey of the class taken in December promised a somewhat smaller attendance of 100 alumni and it was this figure that was used to determine the reunion budget. Interestingly enough, attendance by both the classes of '55 and '56 was slightly above the 100 figure. Unfortunately, our Class had actual attendance of only 65 alumni (35% below budget) and this made the large deficit of $1,585.73 unavoidable. At the 6/19/71 meeting of the Class executive committee, it was voted to have the Class treasury absorb the deficit."

I can only add that those of you who did not attend our 15 th missed a fine weekend in Hanover and an opportunity to renew old acquaintances, visit the many new facilities on the campus and "rap" with undergraduates. Ben Bixby's committee did a superb job and everything went smoothly, including a complete program for the youngsters. At the Class banquet Saturday night at the Hanover Inn, Dean Carroll Brewster delivered an entertaining and informative talk on what is happening at the College these days. Outgoing Class President Joe Stevenson, recognizing that Dean Brewster (who is Yale '57) "has become greener than Consciousness III" made the Dean an honorary member of the Dartmouth Class of 1957.

Lip Lippincott has been appointed to yet another position at Scott Paper Company, namely divisional vice president, consumer products marketing in the Packaged Products Division. He had been staff vice president, Corporate Planning, and earlier served as director of corporate planning; group product manager-facial tissues; and consumer products marketing manager. No information to the contrary, I assume that he and wife Naomi still live at 309 Highway, Riverton, N. J. 08077.

George Reichelm, a stockbroker with Reichelm, Miceli, Leonard & Potta, captured the national championship of the Atlantic Class in a five-race series held on Long Island Sound off Westport, Conn. George was ably assisted by wife Bobby Lou and son Scott.

Dick Vanden Bosehe has been named corporate director, research and development, for McKee-Berger-Mansueto, Inc., the engineering and construction management firm in NYC. Dick and new bride Becky reside in Old Bridge, N. J.

John and Ann Blades are off to London for three to five years. John has been named director of marketing, Europe, for Richardson-Merrell, Ltd.

Leo J. Beattie has been named first vice president and voting stockholder of Shearson, Hammill & Co., Inc., the securities brokerage and investment banking concern. Lee lives at 10 W. 66th Street in N.Y.C.

Lawrence E. Blades has been appoint- ed dean of the College of Law at lowa University. At lowa, Larry will guide a law school with about 450 students and a full-time faculty of 25 professors. Larry had been dean of the Kansas University School of Law since 1968. Larry's law teaching specialities are torts and income tax law.

Jack Johnson Jr. is the new product sales manager in the Petroleum Chemicals Department of Rohm and Haas Company, Philadelphia, Pa., manufacturer of chemicals, plastics and fibers. Jack has been with the company since 1962 and now directs the sale of the broad line of chemicals the firm manufactures for the petroleum industry. Jack and Joan and their three children Gary, Glen and Steven (any more?) live at 108 Wexford Drive, Cherry Hill, N. J. 08034.

Class Get-Togethers for This Fall

Class get-togethers for the Harvard game in Cambridge on October 23 and the Yale game in Hanover on October 30 are being coordinated by Social Chairman DonWhite. The Harvard pre-game affair (B.Y.O.) is being organized by DickCanton and will begin at 11 a.m. on Soldier's Field Road in Brighton, Mass., across from Howard Johnson's. A detailed map will be included in the upcoming Class newsletter. Art Pierce will be hosting the Yale pre-game party at his home on Lebanon Street across from the Shell station. A keg will be tapped and Art suggests that you bring a picnic lunch. Don White is also working on a cocktail party to be held after the Yale game—further details will be announced in the Class newsletter.

Let's hear from all of you out there-what are you doing, where are you living, etc. Drop me a postcard. We'd especially like to hear from those of you who seem to have disappeared—Like, WHERE ARE YOU, Tony Jenks?
