By the time this goes to print May will be upon us and, hopefully, it will be more quiet on the campus than a year ago. It would be interesting to know what changes, if any, have occurred in the thinking of the participants with the twelve month perspective. Probably we all are more firmly convinced than ever that our original opinions on the events of last May are correct and we cannot understand the reluctance or inability of others to agree with us now that they've had a chance to think it over.
Speaking of campus activities the College was represented at the inauguration of the new president of Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., last fall by Paul Mower. Paul is a lawyer in Chambersburg and has his own office there.
The March 5 issue of "Life" had an article on women in Aspen which included a picture and mention of Sandy Sollitt who teaches at the Snowmass Ski School. Sandy is the daughter of Sumner Sollitt. Sumner is in the engineering contractor business in Chicago.
John Van Raalte is a shoo-in for the award as "Field Correspondent of the Year." He writes that he saw Lany Brisban recently in N.Y.C. while Lany was up for a sales convention. Lany is a bottler and distributor for Royal Crown Cola in Huntington, W. Va., and business is not fizzling.
It has been a fabulous winter for skiing and among those enjoying it at Stowe recently were Dr. Bill Cummings and family. If anyone from the class made it to the Alumni Ski Weekend March 5-7 it would be good to have a report.
Congratulations to Carl Felsenfeld who has been promoted to general counsel of Universal C.I.T. Credit Corporation. Universal C.I.T. is the major consumer finance subsidiary of C.I.T. Financial. Carl joined the company in 1959 and most recently was assistant general counsel. Carl, Judy and son Peter live in New York City.
Paul Liscord has been named fire and casualty actuary with the New Hampshire Insurance Department. Before that he was vice president and actuary at Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, Conn. This should give Paul and Helen a closer shot at that good New Hampshire skiing and clean air.
Bill Weir also has recently made a move to Weston Instruments, Inc., in Newark. N. J., where he will be vice president of marketing. Previously he was director of marketing for Harris Semiconductor in Florida. Clara and daughters Patty and Judy will be moving to Scotch Plains.
Bobo Russell's latest "On and Off the Campus" was the best yet and, hopefully, everyone appreciated it. As an extension of Bob Foster's suggestion, and having in mind the unusual modesty displayed by our classmates when it comes to sending in news about themselves, why not send in an item about a classmate or classmates? It would make good reading and no one would feel he was blowing his own horn. Why not give it a try?!
