Bill Barnet, '64 Treasurer, recently turned over $500 of '64 class dues money to Dean Dey to be used in support of Dartmouth's Jersey City Project. The entire class takes great pride in being able to contribute to this worthwhile community action program.

Roger Aaron, head '64 agent for the Alumni Fund and general prize-winning good guy, reminds us all that the College once again needs our support. I trust that each of us will, upon reflection, remind ourselves that the College deserves this support.

Gene Veto's lovely wife, Jean (Vassar '66), reports that the Vetos have been joyously augmented by one Liza, a blushing 7-pound, 11-ounce baby girl born to them on March 30.

Not since Bob Freeman's smiling visage graced the sidepanels of the Quaker Life box has '64 been done as proud as this: the well-manicured hands of our esteemed class president, Sandy McGinnes, are featured in a full-page advertisement for State Mutual of America. You can even read Sandy's class ring if you look hard enough. At first blush, it appears as though Sandy's hands are innocently placing pins in a map, marking the areas of the country which are served by State Mutual. In reality, it is rumored that Sandy is marking a blueprint of Mary Hitchcock Hospital in order to demonstrate to future generations of Zeta Psis the several proven ways to infiltrate the Billings Lee Nursing School via the underground heating tunnels.

My yearly post-convention sojourn in the Big Apple was highlighted last month by a bountiful bash hosted by Herb McCord,Judi, and their all-too-human bassett hound, Moosebreath. Herb was in rare form as he revived his punch-mixing talents with a devastating champagne brew calculated to bring out the big green in everyone present. '64's who remember being there were Brad Evans, Bob Freeman, Bruce Campbell, Pete Koenig, Nick Listorti and Mike Danzig.

Jay Reagan and Amy were in town recently to catch the rays. Jay and I met sandy Shapiro and Pete Luitwieler for dinner at the local Steak 'N Brew on the night before its owner filed for bankruptcy and Schlitz stock went up three points.

Lew and Judy Eisenberg dropped down to Palm Beach for a restful weekend a few days ago. I am happy to report that despite his recent appointment as a vice president of Goldman, Sachs & Co., Lew is the same great, unaffected guy we knew in our youth.

Bill Curran is alive and well and teaching in South Portland, Me. Bill was recently married to the former Sandra Deetjen, a Maine graduate who teaches at the Skillin School in South Portland. Among those who ushered '64's favorite Latin scholar to his fate was Jan Dep-house.

"Chris" Vancura also joined the ranks of the happily married '64's. Chris married the former Patricia Parfitt of Palos Verdes, Calif., on April 17. The Vancuras are living in Bronxville, N. Y.

Bulletin! This will be my last official transmission from Bachelor Central. I have just called for artillery and air strikes on my own position. After years of fighting the good fight, Bachelor Central is being overrun by alien forces. I am even now burning the codebooks here in the command bunker, and readying myself for a true warrior's end. I have just become engaged to marry a wonderful, charming and lovely girl named Mary Alice Goetz, a University of Miami grad who works at the University's Institute of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. You are all invited, of course, to our wedding which is to be held here in Miami on August 14. After a trip to New England, we'll return to the University where I work as assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs and attend the evening division of the School of Law. Mary Alice will continue to chip away at her Master's degree in Art History.

That's it for the column until the next issue of the ALUMNI MAG which will be published next fall. Please don't forget to keep me posted over the summer with news about yourself or other '64's. Later.
