Spring strikes again, thawing the hearts of '64's everywhere. How long has it been since you last spent the night on a golf course or "snaked" a date, or chipped for a keg, or instigated a "road trip?" If you are a typical '64, probably about eight years, four tons of crabgrass, three promotions, one wife and 1.2 children ago. But I digress.

Ed Gingras answered my plea for class news recently with a thoroughly documented intelligence report on '64s in the San Francisco Bay area. After two years in the Peace Corps in India (which included marriage to Colby Jr.'s only English resident, Anne Cable), an MBA at Columbia, and a CPA with Arthur Andersen, Ed is now working as a divisional controller at Kaiser Aetna, a large real estate company. The Gingras household has been blessed with two lovely children, a girl and a boy. Ed and Anne ask any '64s who pass through 'Frisco to give them a call.

Ed reports that Perry Butler's pub is growing in fame every day. Chuck Marsh, having finished an M BA at Stanford, is now working for a real estate firm in the Bay area. Chuck and his charming wife Barbara adopted a beautiful little girl last summer.

Dave Calder, one of '64s over-30 bachelor holdouts, is now touring the world after a stint with uncle Sam, and will be taking a second year of residency in internal medicine at the Houston Medical Center. Other Bay Area -64s who have crossed Ed's path include Neil Stanley, John Begeley, Alans Pierce, Kurt Kaiser, Al Wood, and Lvnn Bates.

steVe Cutler's lovely wife Karen writes that Steve has been teaching sociology at Oberlin Coi|ege for the past four years. Steve's research interests focus upon gerontology, and he is fast becoming an authority in the field. (I look forward to chatting with Steve at our 25th reunion!) Steve and Karen have two lovely children, Ellen and Timothy. Karen also reports that Bill Westling is assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One, which serves the White House.

Ed Stern's charming wife Jeni writes that she and Ed are now the proud parents of Deborah Ariel Stern. Deborah is slated for the Dartmouth Class of 1990.

Cheers are in order for Rick Isaacson, who is now a corporate vice president for Cleveland's Mark McCormack's International Management Group, a firm which represents many top athletes. Rick's principal responsibilities include managing the Company's activities in golf, skiing and tennis.

Cheers also to Fred Meils, who has recently been appointed as vice president for finance of the Pepsi Cola Metropolitan Bottling Company, a division of Pepsi consisting of all company-owned bottling franchises.

Spies report that Dave de Calesta will be finishing his Ph.D. in wildlife biology this spring, and is looking for a teaching job. Dave may be reached at 1705 Stover Road, Ft. Collins, Colorado 80521.

This month's '64 Career Spotlight shines admiringly upon Frank Herringer, who has recently been named by President Nixon to be Administrator of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration of the Department of Transportation. Frank's new post is reportedly one level below that of the Secretary of Transportation.

That's about it for the class news bag. Later.
