It has been an exciting season for those of us fortunate enough to attend some of the Dartmouth football games. Michelle and I made the full tour this year having seen Penn at Hanover, Harvard, Yale, and Columbia. I'm writing this shortly before we take on Cornell on regional TV and with Princeton coming the following week. I don't think I ever saw six games in one season, even as an undergraduate.
Something got fouled-up in Hanover with our scheduled post-game party at the Dartmouth Outing Club. A group of '53's showed up and found the Class of '27 had made prior claim to the Club. Billy Johnson was kind enough to substitute his house for a portion of the party.
The usual large crowd was in attendance at the Harvard game and the party afterwards was well attended. We saw Ed Boyle at the game. He is at Fairfield Prep in Fairfield, Conn., for this school year. Phil Fast and his wife, Carmen, vacationed in New York and took-in the Yale and Columbia games. The Class Executive Committee postponed their meeting before the Columbia game, but hope to have it during the Princeton weekend.
We received several moving announcements this month. Lombard, Vitalis and Paganuccx, Inc. have moved to larger quarters at 111 Broadway. I asked them if their business was growing and they said at least the overhead was. I understand they've added several people to their staff this past year. I know how hard they've worked and it's good to see them prospering.
Paul Supovitz has found himself an opening in the doughnut business. Formerly Sales Manager for the Keystone Camera Company, he has recently been appointed Director of Marketing for Mister Donut of America. He will head the advertising and merchandising promotions of Mister Donut, an organization with nearly 200 franchised shops, and will have responsibility for planning and coordinating these promotions with Mister Donut's advertising agency.
Jack and Caroline Patten write from London that they have found a home at 100 Eaton Place, London. S.W. 1. England. They have an old English town house in the heart of the city and Jack can walk to his offices at McGraw-Hill. I heard this past weekend that Tom and Arlene Bloomer have moved from Washington, D. C., to Greenwich, Conn. Tom is Program Sales Manager for the Army Data Processing Sales of 1.8.M. and will be working in New York City.
John and Sandy Rosenberger made a big move from New Jersey to Billings, Mont. John has gotten out of the telephone business and has become an Agent for the Equitable Life Assurance Society. He says he wishes he had made this move ten years ago.
I don't have all the details, but understand that Leo Clancy has been transferred to Chicago with Booz, Allen and Hamilton and that Wish Washburn has moved to San Francisco with Crown Zellerbach. NeilBersch has been made a partner of Touche, Ross, Bailey & Smart, certified public accountants in Los Angeles. Turner Austin has been appointed manager of the Louisville, Ky., Agency of the State Mutual Life Assurance Company. He was previously assistant general agent in State Mutual's Atlanta, Ga., agency. Turner has six salesmen plus brokers under him in his new assignment.
Best wishes for a happy Christmas season. If you have time, drop me a Chirstmas card and let me know what you are doing. I can use the news!
