Some '86s can't stand to sit on the sidelines while palace coups, drug busts, and social revolutions grab the headlines. Action! They want to be part of the excitement! Krista Thomas decided that selling convention material in Dallas would not give her the adrenaline rush she craved, so she traded in her business card for an FBI badge. Now she dusts for fingerprints at the scene of the crime, goes to the range to practice her sharpshooting, listens on wiretapped phone lines, wears a bulletproof vest to work, talks tough, and generally thwarts crooks. No word yet on whether she has had a chance to read a drug kingpin his rights, but if you know any crooks in Boston, you better tell them to watch out for the FBI's new secret weapon.
C. C. Conway is upset that the class of 1986 secret intelligence officers aren't up to FBI standards. Apparently some misinformation was communicated to the class intelligence apparatus. Could it be that Harvard friends have infiltrated our intelligence network? Hopefully Krista will have time to investigate this possibility. In the meantime, be advised that C.C. is NOT engaged. Surely all the bachelors will be elated to hear that there still is hope. C.C. is a single student at the Kellogg B-School.
The class is entering a new era. Our first postgraduate era was the Gemstone Age in which shopping for diamonds and other precious stones was fashionable. While engagements and marriages are still frequent news, the Populate the Earth Age is emerging. Tom Berry and his wife, Jennifer, recently added a small body to our planet when Kelsey Barbara Berry weighed in at 6 lbs. 11 oz. Jennifer teaches at a New Hampshire prep school; Tom is a real estate developer.
Jason Keves and Allison MacEwan Keves added a class of '86 thoroughbred to the world. Alexandra MacEwan Keyes breathed her first gulp of air on October 14, 1989. Her dad is studying economics at the University of Washington while her mom is studying environmental engineering.
Elisa Rush is in her second year of medical school at Mt. Sinai, where she and a brain surgeon have fun playing doctor.
Anne Conte was married recently, so she may have some new last name; maybe Krista can investigate this, too. Some critter named John proposed to her at some secret rendezvous in Hanover (please forward any clues to Krista). Anna works at the Bank of New England.
Sue Schoenauer almost beat me up because I have yet to mention that she and Phyllis Merchant are students at Tuck. Please put away the brass knuckles or else I'll call Krista!!
Jon Paul, fellow Tuck student, and Jennifer Culliton recently got engaged.
Mindy Meade and Sue Wayne work at Leo Burnett, an advertising agency in Chicago.
Peter Zelton recently competed in his first marathon.
