FEBRUARY 1972

David H. Edson '52 has been appointed Comptroller of the College, succeeding James W. Stevens '50, who resigned last fall to become vice president for finance at Knox College in Galeburg, Ill.

Edson, Acting Comptroller since September, was named Associate Comptroller four years ago after being a member of the Comptroller's staff since 1958. Before that he was for three years assistant to the Dean of the College.

The office of the Comptroller is responsible for cash and credit management and all accounting procedures of the College. It handles the College payroll and assists the Treasurer and Budget Officer in preparing and presenting all financial reports.

Edson received a master of arts degree in education from Colgate University in 1954. While there he was a freshman adviser and co-director of the Remedial Reading Laboratory. He served as assistant to the Director of Admissions at Hobart College during the 1954-55 academic year.

The new Comptroller's father is Carroll A. Edson 'l4 of Tucson, Ariz.
