FORTIETH REUNION

June 11-14, 1973 '33 UP!!

Ed Eldridge recently wrote from Cleveland Heights telling of the activities of his children. The twins, Paul and Bruce, graduated in '65 from Dartmouth and Bucknell. Paul taught at the University of Massachusetts and is now completing his doctoral dissertation in Philadelphia. Bruce is a senior systems analyst on computers and data processing employed by a large savings and loan association in Florida. Martha is a graduate of Wittenberg University and Cornell Nursing School. She married Dr. Robert F. Fallon in 1970 and they are in Hanover. She is on the faculty of the Nursing School and Bob is in his second year of residency in surgery at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. Son David is a junior at Heidelberg College. Ed and Hazel plan to be at Reunion.

In the News: Forrie Branch, director of athletics at Hanover High School, recently received the Outstanding Citizens Award from the Lebanon Elks Lodge. Chandler Sprague of San Francisco, commander of the San Mateo county post 53, AMVETS, was recently cited with that organization's Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding service to the organization and to the community.

Wes Beattie is both embarrassed and apologetic A letter intended for only '33ers who had not given to the Third Century Fund was sent in error to some classmates who actually had given. Obviously this is the last thing he wanted to have happen. He hopes that those who received the letters in error will forgive him and not let it adversely influence their giving to the Reunion Year Alumni Fund.

Sid Stoneman has named a committee to bring in nominations for president, secretary, treasurer, and executive committee to the business session of our 40th Reunion. Bill Lang, 10 Delbarton Drive, Short Hills,N.J. 07078 is chairman. The other members are John S. Black, American Society of Corporate Secretaries Inc.; 9 Rockefeller Plaza, New York City 10020; John B. Faegre, Jr., 1260 Northwestern Bank Building, Minneapolis, Minn. 55402; Richard Jackson, 13805 Shaker Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio 44120; Eugene J. Schwartz, 521 Fifth Avenue, New York City 10017; and N. PageWorthington, C & P Telephone Co., 320 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, Md., 21202. Please submit your suggestions to Bill as quickly as possible.

Hoby Van Deusen wrote from New York City in late January: "My Wentworth neighbors have been keeping me posted on your run of sub-zero weather in N.H. Reminds me of one of our undergraduate years when it was below zero part of every day for a month! I have a little spare time on my hands for a few weeks. Have just returned from the hospital where I was recovering from a slight coronary. Feel fine again - in fact, better than ever! Dawn and I are planning to attend Reunion. Keep warm!"

Our 40th Reunion Giving Program is officially underway with a goal of $150,000. For this one year only please increase your gift two and a half to ten times your normal amount. If we each make a conscientious gift this goal will be reached. Then plan to be at Reunion when the big fat check will be presented to President Kemeny.

Good weather has already been ordered, a great program is being planned, so all that is needed to make our 40th Reunion on June 11-14 a huge success is your presence. Please let reunion chairman Bill Dewey, Quechee, Vt.05059 know whether or not you will be coming.

More next month - if you write!!!
