Lynn Bates left the world of Price Waterhouse in April to take the position of treasurer and controller of the San Martin Vineyards Co., the 12th largest winery in California. Lynn and his wife Paula and their daughter Lisa live in Santa Clara, and extend a welcome to any '64s who want to tip a glass or pop a cork. Lynn sees Al Woodberry from time to time; Al works for Price Waterhouse in Oakland and lives in San Francisco.
John Gridley writes that he was married on October 26 to Terri Sympson in Sioux Fallls, S.D., where John practices law. John and Terri were married on Friday the 26th so that they could get to Boston in time to see the Harvard game on the 27th. John rates a cheer for being the Big Green fan of the year!
Pete Luitwieler has been promoted to manager of supply, trading, and cargo sales at Gulf Oil in New York. Pete sees Mel Freeman and Brad Evans occasionally, and writes that both are soon to become fathers. Phi Power!
Bob Cahners too, is soon to become a father, He and his lovely bride Pam visited Miami last week to join the Kubits and Sandy Shapiro and his wife Joy in an assault upon the world's land record for paella consumption. (We came in four ounces under the record; wind conduitions weren't favorable and the sangria was too dry.)
Herb McCord rates a round of furtive cheers for his recent promotion to the presidency of CKLW Radio of Windsor Detroit, a circumstance which has been described as the most significant development in radio since the invention of the transistor. Crash has promised to bring a full keg of Canadian ale to our reunipn next year to commemorate his promotion.
Chuck Feustel's wife Martha Jo writes that Chuck is teaching mathematics at Virginia Tech. and was promoted to the rank of associate professor last year. The Feustels have a daughter and two sons.
Cal Christman joyously reports the birth of his first child Abigail on February 7. And Jay Meltzer is the proud father of a second daughter Elizabeth. Jay is general counsel and secretary of Damon Corp. in Needham Heights. Mass., a firm he joined as corporate counsel last year after having practiced law in New York.
Tĥis month's '64 Career Spotlight shine upon Al Gruber, who was promoted in November to Dean of Students at Mohegan Community College in Norwich, Conn Al writes that his wife Pat presented him with their third son in May.
