Dear '73s -

It seems as though the Class of 72's Ghorllis chewing up parts of my column - in that this month's news will be the shortest in our post' graduation years! Or perhaps it's just that the Cap'n is unpopular these days and deserves no correspondence. Whatever the cause, it'll be "below the deck" for us all if we don't cooperate and get on the stick. Please! Please fill us in on your activities. This column is your sounding board. Without it, we're sunk - so to speak. So I urge each of you to write when you can, and keep us posted on your whereabouts. OK?

Turning about myself... lam pleased to announce the "official most up-to-date roster of post-graduation graduates. These are people who because of various reasons, were unable to graduate with the Class in June of '73. To each of them, may I extend our heartiest congratulations, and in naval terminology, "welcome abroad": (in reverse alphabetical order) Doug Williams, Rodger Shuback, Steinar Schroder, Phillmore Saunders, James Ryan, Aramis Rodriguez, Ed Perry, Tom Parker (4th), Daniel Messing, R. Harrison Marks (3rd), Bill Kemnitzer, Jim Griffith, Mark Field, Paul Doherty, Kevin Blanchard, Bill Berry, Hamilton Bailey (Jr.), Bill Bagley (Jr.), and Lawrence Adelman.

Also joining '73 forces will be one-time '72 man Pat Martin. Seems as though '73 men and women were too much for Pat, and he couldn't resist the distaff distraction. Welcome ashore, mate!

Word has just been received that Charlie Carson is teaching at Carr High School. That's not too astounding news until you find out that Carr High School is just no ordinary-type American high school. In fact, it's not even an American high school. That's to say that Charlie's in Isfahan, Iran, a city in the western central part of the country, with chalk and ruler in one hand, and temperance in the other. His address: Box 12.

And last, but certainly not least (to be trite once again), is the news of the recent joining of hands between dorm-buddy George O. (never could understand what it stood for) Bayrd and a home-town sweety, whose name has temporarily been misplaced. My feelings have been hurt, though, in that no letter was sent to the effect, and I am hoping that George will produce one soon.

Well, that's all the news I've been able to muster-up for the month. Pretty weak showing, if I might say. Why not start off the new year with a new approach to life. WRITE and tell us your GRIPE. In the meantime, keep cheery-eyed. And have a drink on the Cap'n this Holi- day season. It'll go down so well! Bottoms up

Cap'n Quigs P.S. Made it up to the Harvard game. All went well until after the first five minutes. From then on, it seemed all down hill. By the time we rallied into the last few minutes of the game, the Cap'n was well on his way to the high seas, though. My regards to Beck Swanson, who was kind enough to sporadically keep me awake during the festivities. Never could understand the power of a little hot rum and molasses.
