It would be difficult if not impossible to top the color in Celooz’ first reunion memo, so I won't. I mention, however, that a new slate of officers will be elected during reunion weekend, and the nominating committee would appreciate hearing from anyone interested in serving as a class officer for the next five years. As you may have gathered, no skill or political experience is required for these demanding offices; and with a title goes an annual invitation to Class Officer's Weekend in May, an event the incumbent group and wives have thoroughly enjoyed. Please let me know who is interested.

Now on to the news: The Central Bancorporation, Inc., a billion-dollar, multi-bank holding company headquartered in Cincinnati, has named Avery Allen president of its proposed new full-service bank. The Central Trust Company of Montgomery County, N.A., to be located in downtown Dayton. An application for this new bank has been filed with the Comptroller of Currency of the United States for a national bank charter and is now pending subject to final approval of supervisory authorities. Avery came to Dayton from Cleveland, where he served as a vice president of Central National Bank of Cleveland. He was formerly associated with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Paul Egner was promoted to senior transportation analyst in Shell Oil Company's Oil Spills and Special Projects Group, geographically responsible for territory west of the Rockies. Paul joined Shell in January, 1963 as a salesman-in-training in the Marketing Sales office in San Francisco following his release from active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard. Since then, he has held a number of positions in Marketing's sales and real estate organizations on the West Coast. In addition to his Shell job, Paul is in the Coast Guard active reserve and currently is commanding officer of a local reserve unit. He and his wife, Jane, will continue to live in the Los Angeles area.

In July, LCDR Kirk Walters was named Gold crew commanding officer of the U.S.S. Robert E. Lee, one of five first generation nuclear powered fleet ballistic missile submarines. Prior to receiving his own command, he served as executive officer of the U.S.S. Patrick Henry with tours on two other submarines. Kirk, still a bachelor, makes his home in Hawaii where his ship is homeported, and also owns a house in Lake Tahoe - sounds like the best of two worlds. Congratulations, Kirk - and please pay my respects to the Top of the Mar!
