The mailbag has a backlog of news about recent births and imminent arrivals so I'll start this month's column with a round of snaps for you all who have recently fathered heirs and heiresses, or expect to shortly. The wives may also take a bow if they wish.

There is now an even balance of power in Dr. Charlie Eytel's family, as Michael Allan, born September 29, rounded out the herd to an even half dozen. Charlie is practicing in Jacksonville, Fla. A short note from Wells Langbehn indicated his wife was expecting twins for Christmas, but I have no late word whether Wells got his wish for girls. He and Suzanne have two boys, Jeff and Jonathan, aged six and seven, and live in Springfield, Ill. Dr. Nick Procino is the proud father of Elizabeth Marie, born last August, who is their second child. Nick is currently interning in surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, N. Y. Pete Paxson's daughter, Emily, is now just over a year old.

Standard Brands, Inc. has appointed LouLazar as director of real estate operations. Lou, who obtained his Master's degree from Stanford, has gained a good deal of experience in this area through his former responsibilities with Litton Industries, and is also a licensed New York State real estate broker. Tom Margetts is a lawyer with Standard Brands and no doubt will work closely with Lou, as those two professions can't seem to function without each other's help.

The bankers have also gotten publicity as John Perley has been named a vice president of the Amoskeag National Bank, Manchester, N. H. John was with Chemical Bank in New York City since 1961, serving in the Metropolitan Division during the past year. The Riggs National Bank in Washington, D. C., elected Larry Church an assistant cashier. Larry, who graduated from George Washington University after attending Dartmouth, is assistant manager of the bank's L'Enfant Plaza office.

It seems to me that most people go West but John Wardrop has come East to be general manager in the eastern region for the Sparks Belting Company, Inc., a manufacturer of conveyor belts. John has been with the company about three years, haying forsaken the teacher-coach racket in Michigan, and now lives in Verona, N. J., with his wife and two-and-a-half-year-old son.

Dr. Stan Davis has been named assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Stan has seen a lot of the University as he graduated as well as took part of his residency there. The Los Angeles area, where he served his internship, must have been too much for him. The Navy still has a hold on Dr. Bill Maistrellis and Dr. Tom Magill as each is serving as ship's surgeon aboard the aircraft carriers "U.S.S. Coral Sea" and "U.S.S. Saratoga," respectively. Both are Lcdrs. Tom expects to finish his hitch at Chelsea Naval Hospital, while Bill finished his five-and-a-half-year surgical residency at Boston City Hospital a year ago January. Dick Knutson reports that he is sort of busy attending medical school and holding down two jobs in his spare time. He expects to finish school in just a few months - I hope you aren't your first patient, Dick.

A relatively long note from Pete Anderson relates that in January he moved from Los Angeles to Seattle where he has joined the law firm of Bogle, Gates, Pobrin, Wakefield and Long, a name as involved as Merrill Lynch, etc. For the past four years, Pete has specialized in labor law and will continue in this field with his new firm. He and his wife, Ann, have recently taken a great interest in mountaineering and they hope to find new "Everests" to conquer in the Pacific Northwest.

Word has reached me that Rob Killgore has been elected president of the Dade County (Fla.) Dartmouth Club, although he was rather bewildered as to how it all happened since he didn't realize the elections were to be held that particular night. Congratulations, Rob. He and his family live in Key Biscayne where he is a registered representative with Reynolds & Co. and as near a full-time fisherman as his spare time allows.
