Greetings from a new name at the head of this column. In attempting to find another word to define a beginner I reached for the help of Mr. Webster's big book and find that he describes a beginner as a neophyte and furthermore adds that a neophyte is a converted heathen. Maybe there is more truth than fiction about this as it has taken me 58 years to get to this point on any 1916 project. As a convert I know full well that John Stearns' shoes are too big for me so from now on it will be a case of a pair of bare feet trying to find a pair of shoes to fit.

At our 55th Reunion do you recall the man who was attending his 70th Reunion and was staying in North Fayer? We who were in Middle Fayer used to lend a hand when his assistants needed help in getting him into a car or getting him up the front stairs. The College has just issued a list of the 25 oldest living graduates and at the top of the list is this man's name, Frederick W. Haskell Class of 1901 of Shrewsbury Mass.

Paul F. Wadleigh of Long Beach, Calif., passed along this good news at the time of his birthday. He wrote: "Our youngest son has received his Doctorate in Laws, cum laude, and will be sworn in next week. This makes four generations in the Wadleigh family, starting with my grandfather." This is the kind of good news that we are delighted to learn.

A letter from Charles (Zach) Taylor sends this news "At this moment I am engaged in compiling an extensive Family Geneology with the aid and support of relatives. Also the Norwalk (Conn.) Historical Association is approaching me to write a new and up-to-date history of the town. However at my advanced age I am running out of time and gas."
