As we near the end of our 36th year we once again are pleased to bring to the attention of the whole body of alumni our unique club with its rustic cabin at 7,000 foot Donner Summit in the Sierra Nevada. The original incorporating members were John H. Ellis '34, Wilson D.Evans '33, Raymond R. Taylor '11, J. RichardTownsend '23, and B. L. (Abe) Winslow '20.
The popularity of the cabin is attested to by the fact that it is in use the year-round, and reservations for popular winter dates are made as much as a year ahead. For skiing, the Sugar Bowl and Donner Ski Area are next door, and Squaw Valley, Mt. Rose, and the other resorts around Lake Tahoe are within convenient driving distance.
Our membership runs the gamut of classes from 1926 to 1974. Val Armento '73 is our first coed member and was an active participant in our winter cleanup party in July.
The Dartmouth Association of Northern California and Nevada is noted for its "Outrageous Events" - picnics, hikes, visits to the theater and to the Gold Country - originated by its secretary, Dick Gale '60. The D.O.C. of Northern California might be called the longest running outrageous event, created by association members years before the term was thought of.
