Urgent request to all 57's! It may be appropriate to remind members of the Class that the ALUMNI MAGAZINE column is designed to present news items of general interest, not only to classmates, but to the alumni body as a whole. Although space is limited, your secretary is confident that, over a period of time, he can include news items provided, and contributions concerning career progress, or any avocational observations or accomplishments which may be of general alumni interest would be much appreciated. Contributions may be in the form of news clippings, manuscript, or scribbled note. Please send same to the above address.

George B. Boswell '39, president of the Dartmouth Club of Paris, France, has written that they have more members from the Class of '57 (eight) than any other class. Betsy and MaiRobinson received the Paris Club at their home for dinner in June and George was kind enough to enclose a photograph which included PeteWilliams and Jean Timsit along with their host.

Christopher S. Wren, who was one of the 103 classmates who revisited Hanover this June, had just previously been accused by the SovietLiterary Gazette, an official weekly organ of the U.S.S.R., of being associated with the United States Central Intelligence Agency. Chris indicated publicly that "The charges are totally fabricated. I never worked for the C.I.A." and that he was "looking forward to having them present . . . the evidence." Chris became Moscow bureau chief for the New York Times in December 1974 and was stoutly defended by the Times on the basis of his own statements and of written responses to the Times' requests to the C.I.A. in which George Bush, the director, stated that "no staff member or employee of the N.Y. Times is used operationally by the C.I.A.". Apparently, the controversy has subsided as Chris made it to our super 20th reunion unscathed.

Dr. Donald K. Weilburg, a Westerly, R.I., orthodontist, is in a hotly contested primary battle for the District 51 seat on the Democratic State Executive Committee. Don's opponent, a Westerly attorney, is the incumbent who, four years ago, lost to Don by a margin of only two votes. In 1974, Don decided not to run, giving his opponent an unopposed shot at the seat, but this year Don is back with an apparently strong drive to oust the incumbent. Although the results are not available as of this writing, we wish Don the best of luck and commend him for his direct participation in the democratic process of government.

Mal Robinson '57 (right) hosted classmates Pete Williams '57 and Jean Timsit '57 at ameeting of the Dartmouth Club of France at his home in Paris.
