Batch has had a stay in the hospital and is now out and greatly improved but has asked to be relieved of his duties as secretary. I have agreed to carry on for the time being. It would be nice if you sent Batch a card.
The Class held its annual fall reunion on September 24-25 at the time of the New Hampshire State game. The weather was perfect and the goodly number who attended had a fine time. John Williams handled the arrangements, and we owe him a debt of gratitude.
Noted at one or the other of the several affairs were the Sandoes, Fiskes, Huntingtons, Rosses, DeMonds, McCrillises, Robinsons, Hindses, Murrays, Moxons, Henry Clay, Nock Wallis, Bob Paisley, Ray Legg, John Williams, Marion Rand, and Kitty Larmon.
As usual we had a class meeting on Friday afternoon. Nock Wallis reported on the Alumni Fund, Chet DeMond on the class treasury, and John McCrillis on the bequest program. At night we had a dinner at which the featured speaker was Wilson Neeley '78, a grandson of our own Gene Neeley. He gave a fine talk.
The game was won by Dartmouth, which always adds to the gaiety of the occasion. After the game we enjoyed the hospitality of Kitty Larmon, as we have so many times in the past. As always, she was a charming hostess.
At one time or another most of the Class visited the Larmon room in the library where a portrait of Cotty was recently unveiled. It is a splendid portrait. We are indebted to Sumner Kilmarx '22 for his assistance in the Larmon room project.
Now for a few odds and ends. Bob and AnneLewis have moved to Aiken, S.C. I do not know if they plan to ride horses. John Shelburne recently celebrated a birthday, and in a telephone conversation he expressed his great interest in the College. Mrs. Ora Huntoon, back from Europe, was in the Boston area for a short visit. She and Ora live in Palm Springs, Cal. Harriet Munro says Louis enjoyed the birthday card and is reasonably well. A letter from Tracey Kohl, who with Edna makes Tucson, Ariz., home, says, "Keep well and do what the doctor orders." I am not Sure I completely agree with that.
Mary Hodgkins is out of the hospital where she was with a broken hip. Doc says she is making a good recovery. Nick Sandoe has retired and plans to locate in Sun City Center, Fla. Chet Gale and Emily went to Atlanta to celebrate Chet's birthday at a party hosted by Chet's two sons, one of whom lives in Atlanta.
Well, so much for this initial effort. Let us hear from you.
