The joys of the Christmas season were saddened by the loss of two members of 1912. On December 3 Mark Allen passed away after two years of struggles in which the doctors and the hospitals played a major role. Then just four days before Christmas our Class President Connie Snow suddenly died in his lovely New Hampshire home. Even their Christmas card was full of hope in the anticipation of spending the holiday with their daughter in Hanover. The sympathy of all the Class goes out to these two families.

The December issue carried a brief comment on the book Para-Desa by our new Class Agent Henry B. Stevens, found under the heading Dartmouth Authors. Our Vice President JoeDoe has been busy helping Henry to get a good start with his new job.

Ken Kimball has been having a difficult time recovering from two operations with slow progress. We are in receipt of a snapshot of Fletcher Clark carving his Thanksgiving turkey while Marguerite looks on with a watchful eye. At least we know they were able to enjoy such an event. Edith and Dutch Waterbury are now in Sun City, Ariz., and can report a clean bill of health from their physician. Dutch is reminding us the hour is getting late and we should do something about that bequest for the College.

Priscilla Belcher, Harold's daughter, sends word that her mother, now in a nursing home, enjoys reading, playing cards, and even gets out for a ride when the weather permits. DorothyShapleigh lost her brother, Ned Dow, in November in Knoxville, Tenn., where she spent 3½ months. Now she is back home in Portland getting rested. Grace Burnham reports a happy time at reunion last June. Elizabeth Park never let on that she had to keep in style and have an operation but, even so, she calls herself one of the Dartmouth diehards.

Leona Richmond is on the go again: in December to Chicago for a family gathering of 18, then in January for a 22-day flight to Australia and the South Pacific islands. We know that Alma White and Bertha and QuechFrench are well, in fact, we talked with Quech not long ago and found him enthusiastic over the idea of a class reunion in his bailiwick.

Dave Orr is drumming up trade for the Post 50-Year Reunion in June. Good time now to make plans for it.
