Life seems to be treating Clarke Bittner and family well. "Cack" was promoted to senior vice president of United Penn Bank in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., which is the 220th largest commercial bank in the United States. He is in charge of marketing activities for United Penn. He recently ended a term as chairman of the Marketing Committee of the Pennsylvania Banker's Association. Cack does an increasing amount of public speaking throughout Pennsylvania and recently addressed the Annual Monroe County GOP Dinner. Those who attended our 15th Reunion will well remember Cack's public speaking, although I am sure his topics are quite different at home. Other Bittners are equally active. Wife Joanne is active in Junior League and Community Activities. Son John (14) starts as running back and defensive end for his junior high football team and is defensive captain and a real "head knocker" according to Cack. He also hit a .411 in baseball. Cack Jr. (12) won his group's punt, pass, and kick competition as did older brother John and hit .385 in his Little League. The youngest boy, A.J., started for his Little League team, studies judo, swims, and is an excellent student. Cack extends the usual warm invitation to all '58s passing through the Wilkes-Barre area.
That's it for now. See you next month.
