Mike McGean, secretary of the College, has informed us that at the winter meeting of the board of trustees decisions on class composition were made. These have been reported in the MAGAZINE. Basically, it was a decision to keep the number of matriculated undergraduates on the campus in any one term at or below 3200. At the same time, the guideline calls for the number of women in the freshman class to increase by 25 this year. This will set guidelines of 750 men and 300 women for the class of 1981.

We are in receipt of a letter from John F. Meek, vice president and chairman of the investment committee at Dartmouth, telling of Norm Albree's misfortunes. His eyesight is failing, and he had a serious fall which affected his legs and sense of balance - both of which problems have made a nursing home necessary. (Mr. Meek is serving as a trustee of a fund from Norm which will eventually benefit Dartmouth along with Amherst and Simmons.)

Dutch Waterbury keeps in touch with the groundhogs in Arizona and lets us know that we should expect spring to arrive on March 16. We suspect his recent letter was to remind us that our 65th reunion is scheduled for June 10-12, although he does not mention it. Govern yourselves accordingly.

Jimmie Cleaves's son Burton reports on his father's condition: he just passed his 87th birthday in a nursing home, and little change is apparent from day to day. He sits up in a chair several times a day, eats and sleeps well, but continues to have difficulty in communicating.

Ben Hunt's widow Norma writes from Largo, Fla., of her birdbath's being, frozen several times - something not experienced before in her ten years there. Also, her young grandson who had never seen any snow has had the thrill of his life making snowballs. No reunion for Norma, regretfully.
