From Bill Behrens in Phoenix we hear that "In August Bill Miles, his wife Lynn; Captain Dave Harscheid (USN), his wife Diane; my wife Uta and I; and all our respective progeny, met at the Harscheid's beautiful quarters (four floors including complete basement and attic) on the naval base in San Diego for an outstanding afternoon and evening. Dave showed us around his ship (the USS Dixon, an enormous submarine tender, which was at the time flanked by four ominous looking black nuclear subs), treated the entire group to ice cream in his private dining room, and then took us back to the house for drinks. That evening we all (less the children) repaired to a posh eatery known as "Mr. A's" where we ate, drank and visited until about midnight. A fine time was had by all."
