Controversial North American native land claims were discussed at our annual dinner in November 1977. Guest speaker Michael A. Dorris, assistant professor of anthropology and chairman of the Native American Studies Program at Dartmouth (and a member of Oregon's Modoc tribe), described native culture before and after contact with Europeans, and current litigation over land claims.
