A release from Atlanta brings news that Walter Miller has joined the First National Bank of that city as director of marketing with a corporate title of senior vice president. Previously Walter had been marketing director at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh.

After graduation, Walter received an M.B.A. in marketing from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in finance from New York University. His new responsibilities will include the overall management of First National's advertising, market research, and product-development activities.

A native of Old Westbury, Long Island, Walter is a director of the Bank Marketing Association and former chairman of the board of regents for the University of Colorado's School of Bank Marketing. He serves on the executive committee of the American Banker's Association's marketing division, and is a former chairman of the international and marketing committees of the Interbank Card Association. He and his wife Joan have four children.

Another release reveals that Walter Boden has recently been designated a certified commercial-investment member (CCIM) by the Realtors National Marketing Institute in recognition of his proven professionalism.

Walt is senior vice president and associate broker with John Hunsinger & Company of Atlanta, where he specializes in industrialcommercial sales and leases and incomeproperty sales. His community activities include work with the Fulton County Development Authority, the Buckhead Little League, the Dartmouth Alumni Club of South Georgia, and the Georgia Industrial Developers Association.

Walt Van Dorn (that's three Walters in a row) writes that he has become a partner in the Boston law firm of Powers & Hall, where he will continue to concentrate in the area of tax law.

Mickey Stultz writes that he profited from the chance to be a visiting fellow in Southern African affairs at Yale last fall, but that he is now back to the more prosaic job of departmental chairman at Brown. He writes, "My field of interest, South Africa, which seemed terribly remote in 1955, has suddenly come into its own."

Charlie Hulsebosch is on the move. A card from wife Betsy informs us that Charlie has taken a new job as vice president of finance with the Oshkosh Truck Company, located in the town of the same name in Wisconsin.

Dr. Allen Root reports that son Jonathan has been accepted to the Class of '82 and will enroll in September. Al spent last October in Sydney, Australia, as visiting professor of pediatrics at Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. He has also asked that we reserve room for him at our mini-reunion to be held Yale weekend next fall.

That smooth transition leads us to the detail of said reunion. The dates are October 13-15. Rooms will be available at the new Sheraton Motor Inn in Lebanon. Chairman Hugh Brady informs us that he already has 17 "yeses" and 18 "possibles" and the official mailing won't go out until June.

There will be a pre-game luncheon at Smoyer Lounge and a post-game cocktail party and class banquet back at the Sheraton. A continental breakfast on Sunday will wind things up. The official mailing will supply the rest of the details, but start making plans now.
