Among this month's news is word that Joe Cecere has been selected for inclusion in the 1981 edition of Outstanding Young Men ofAmerica, a prestigious annual awards publica- tion. Winners of the awards program are selected from nominations received from senators, representatives, governors, mayors, state legislators, university and college presidents, deans, and various civic groups, in- cluding the United States Jaycees, which also en- dorses the program. Criteria for selection include service to community, professional leadership, academic achievement, business advancement, cultural accomplishments, and civic and political participation. John Shanahan, a general banking officer in the specialized lending department of the United States Trust Company of New York, has been promoted to a vice president of the bank. John lives with his wife and family in Scarsdale, N.Y.
