Several of you have written expressing your sorrow and emptiness over the loss of Patty Pierce. I, of course, share these feelings; a recent letter from M. L. Heslin reflects the same sentiments. M. L. would like to establish a memorial in Patty's name. Anyone who would like to help M.L., please write her (Consular Section, U.S. Embassy, Moscow, A.P.O. New York 09862). Thoughts and inquiries may also be directed to me. Thanks.
It is also my unfortunate duty to report to you the loss of Jeffrey Miller. He died in California in March. I join all of you in mourning the loss of a cheerful and vibrant '79.
For obvious reasons, I will relieve you of most of my attempts at humor this month.
Several of our classmates spoke at Law Alumni Day in Hanover last month: Otho Kerr (Harvard Law), Marjory Robertson (Boston College Law), Robin Smith (Columbia Law), and Nick "The Greek" Theodorou (University of Chicago Law).
Rick Katz writes in almost unintelligible hand to confirm his engagement; he is to marry Holliday Lee Hurd. Rick is working at Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company and he reports that Bill Mitchell is also about to take the plunge.
Thanks to Britta Hurly for her pithy note. In it she reports her marriage to Bill Punchak. Britta is enjoying Wyoming and her studies at the University of Wyoming. She is working toward her degree in range management. DebKrieger is also seeking a name change. She is to marry Dana Jennings, za cub reporter.
Others on the nuptial newsfront include Andyand Anne (Cramer) Hong. They are living in Denver. Andy is a laboratory technician at a hospital and Anne is getting her law degree at Denver University.
Britta also informs me that Tim Amnions, who is also in Denver, will be getting hitched this summer.
Steve Cherdon is a vice president at a solar energy outfit in Rhode Island. Judi Hirschman was married last fall, but I have no details.
College sweethearts Laura Woodberry and Alistair Jessiman "plan May nuptials," according to the Sunday New York Times. Laura is working at Southeby's in New York and Alistair is working at Morgan Guaranty. Alistair has the great good fortune of working with James Kenneth "Nightstick" Holden VIII. Jim, you may remember, is the guy who looks like a sixth grader in our freshman book. While he is not traumatizing the secretaries at Morgan, Jim is traumatizing young lasses at Sara Lawrence.
Please send news of our fellows.
