This month's mail was both copious and interesting. I must say that I appreciate this pleasant change.
Regina Barreca writes to tell that she and fellow entrepreneurs Mary Anne Yanulis and Pam Katz have recently incorporated as Tiger Heart Productions. They are a not-for-prbfit (I know the feeling) company and have recently received a grant to produce a film on domestic violence. Gina, who is teaching at Queens College, has an article on the same subject in the November issue of McCall's.
Another '79 is an eager, aspiring business mogul: Scott Roulston and his father, Thomas Roulston '55, run an investment firm in Cleveland. Their new tack is to offer "Topwatch" security services to their clients. Scott took his early training at Bones Gate.
Speaking of Bones Gate, more from Michael"Belly" Kelley, my agent in England. After traveling to Australia, Haiti, Panama, Singapore (couldn't locate Marlowe there), and Honduras, Mike says that Bones Gate is still the only place where you can drink all night for free. Mike relates the following on his chums:
Peter Smith is selling computers for I.B.M. in Manchester, N.H., and liking same. Ted Winterer is in N.Y.C. trying to make it in the literary world. Joe Henley is still working for the Ladies Pro Golf Association. Richie "The Ace" Brown is in the service (Air Force, I think) learning how to fly and land jets on aircraft carriers. I hope that he and Jimmy Eden never do any drag racing in my neighborhood.
Now from Webster Avenue to Baker Library: John Bussey is due our congratulations for having been named one of 15 Luce Scholars selected to gain a year's experience in Asia. John, who was on the staff of the Charleston, W.Va., Gazette, will spend the year in Hong Kong on the South China Morning Post.
Other pleasant news of corporate/career moves include the folowing: David Baughman is the treasurer of the recently formed (by a Dartmouth '82) Newbury Consulting Group. They are a computer consulting firm.
Congratulations also to Kim Perry Leonsis for having been named publisher of List, a software resource book for personal computer users. The memo announcing this news, which looked suspiciously like a note from Kim, also mentioned that she was married this past April to Ted Leonsis (Georgetown '77).
Stephen B. Morrison is now Navy Ensign Stephen B. Morrison and has been commissioned in the Naval Reserve after having completed the ground school training phase at the Naval Aviation School in Pensacola, Fla. Eventually Steve will be a naval aviation officer ... and gentleman.
Cindy Berger has a new job - she is now coordinator of the freshman laboratories in the Biology Department of St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. She earned her master's degree at U.N.H.
All for now. Please keep in touch.
