This month's notes will contain some new names and details on some of you '79ers, but I must complain of the dearth of salient tidbits from which I can fabricate lies about more of you.

Kate Augenblick writes from New York City and says that she is beginning to enjoy some success as an artist in the fast-paced art world. She is also working at Forbes. Dirk Williams is living near Kate in Brooklyn; Ellen Peterson '78 and Mary Sullivan '80 are also in the same neighborhood. Sounds rough, Dirk.

I thank Kathy Fraser for her note updating me on the players who were claimed out of the free-agent pool and are now playing for Dartmouth Medical School. Besides herself, Kathy reports that Lincoln Cleveland, Jim Clement, Joan Crane, and Jeff Cross are now peering out at Hanover from behind the lens of a microscope. Kathy reports that they are working hard and having fun ("even with the guys from Harvard"). She also implored me to write more about a broader bunch of people; I'll be glad to if more people like Kathy write and let me know just what they are up to.

Mark Winkler writes to say that he will be the new manager of the Appalachian Mountain Club Cold River Camp in North Chatham, N.H. This is a summer job, and I understand that Mark is wintering at the Holderness School in Plymouth, N.H.

I am pleased to report that a recent letter from Cathy McGrath '80 contains the details of the memorial fund which is being established in Patty Pierce's name. One can make a contribution to the fund by making out a check to "Dartmouth College The Patricia M. Pierce Fund." Such checks should be forwarded to the Dartmouth College Development Office, c/o David T. Eckels '44. Any questions concerning this fund should be addressed to Cathy; she is living at 10 Jay Street, Canton, N.Y. 13617. Cathy also says that anyone with thoughts as to how the funds should be deployed should contact her. Thanks to Cathy for her efforts.

A reminder to you all don't forget to remit your class dues so that Megan and Mark can finance their upcoming vacation in Aruba. Anyone who sees a wayward Procter and Gamble sales representative in the Aspen area, please report this to Mr. and Mrs. Centenari in Wellesley, Mass. There have been other sightings reported.

Finally, another pair of '79s have decided to declare each other as tax deductions; Bob Brown and Julia Fitch are planning a Memorial Day wedding in St. Louis. Bob is in his third year of the University of Texas's J.D.M.B.A. program, while Julia is just about finished with her master's in engineering.
