Among this month's news items is word that Peter Wheelock has been named vice president and unit manager of Crocker Bank corporate banking division/eastern. Before joining Crocker in 1978, Peter served with Chase Manhattan in New York City and as an underwriter for General Reinsurance in San Francisco.
Spencer Smith, wife Michele, and their children are living in Beaconfield Bucks, England near London. Spencer writes that his travels in western Europe have increased, while trips to eastern Europe and the Mideast have become less frequent of late.
Bob Moore has been living for the past two years in the small town of Ehnigen, near Stuttgart, West Germany. Bob will be living there for another six months with his wife Kathy and his daughters Kelly (age five) and Shannon (age three) while on assignment with Hewlett Packard.
Jamie Vreeland left last month for a twoyear Ph.D. anthropology research stint in Peru thanks to backing from United States, Mexican, and Peruvian sources. His objective is to find out how best to use arid land management techniques utilized by the late prehistoric peoples of the Andes in contemporary rural settings today.
John Keller writes: "Still managing to add a touch of northern California to D.C. (wine-tasting, wind-surfing, and no three-piece suit, pot-belly, or receding junior-lawyer hairline). ... I have almost weaned myself from Happy Hour to supplement training for the Marine Corps marathon and a Walter Mitty week at Club Med, Punta Cana. Tom Walsh '70 and Jim White '72 surface periodically to pluck those New Hampshire heartstrings."
Bill Owens writes that he and his wife are expecting their third child this month. Bill saw Frank Archdeacon and Norm Webber this past summer - "Frank is in business school at Columbia and Webs is still trying to catch a fish at the College Grant."
