The mini-reunion was the usual '37 pattern of wonderful old friends and familiar faces. For the second year Sherry and Al Bryant generously picked that Friday night at the Hanover Inn to give a cocktail party for all attendees before the dinner there. After the William and Mary game Saturday all gathered at the Tommy Dent cabin for a Peter Christian's-catered dinner down by the river. And once again, too, the Bosworths and Erdmans combined to put on a fabulous Sunday brunch, this time at Bosworths'. It started early enough this time for the New Yorkers and other long-distance travelers to participate, and very few were unable to make it to Eastman.

Altogether we mustered about 87 people, including six widows! The weather held out, the foliage was beautiful, and, as usual, the time was too short.

Since last year, Al MacKenzie had undergone a sudden heart by-pass operation with complications, but to see him in action that weekend you would not believe such a thing could have happened. As usual, the class owes so much to our Hanover operators Leeand Russ Stearns for organizing everything. Russ is our permanent mini-reunion chair- man in addition to his "retirement" duties traveling the world over as president of the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). He attends many meetings "providing a conduit through which members can speak to the society's leadership and also acting as public spokesman for the civil engineering community." We were fortunate to have them in Hanover that weekend and grateful to his Thayer School secretary for handling most of the details during his absence. Bob McCoy sent us a clipping from the Engineering NewsRecord of an interview with Russ wherein he commented on the emerging importance of the computer in engineers' work and stressed his emphasis on country-wide water supply needs as to both quality and quantity.

For complete reunion coverage you will have to await master reporter Rog Allen's green sheet. At the well-attended class meeting it was voted to add to our by-laws a formal method of adopting people into the class.

The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Long Island elected Lanny Moore to be its current president. The last '37 member to fill this position was Vin Turecamo some 15 years ago. Lanny and Flo attended the Horace Mann School 50th golden reunion last May for the classes of '32, '33, and '34. More than 100 were present. Lanny was co-chairman.

At the Dartmouth-Harvard game, the '37 flapping bedsheet attracted only the Bosworths, Marion Bratesman, the Bankarts, and Bob Aylward. Bob was in town mainly to see Meg, who was back in the hospital for repairs to her hip replacement, and to visit with daughter Ann. In the stands were the Ruggleses, Dwinells, Cooleys, Millers, Martins, Tafts, Berensons, and Lappins. DonMiller has taken off two things his beard and some weight, both of which make him appear half his age. And we sat next to Patand Leßoy Copley, for many years among the missing, at two games. He is retired from the insurance business. We hope they will keep this up and make the coming 50th.

We were delighted to see another long- missing classmate at reunion Bud Teetzel, with whom we shared a few efforts in JV football. We had spoken with him on the telethon to find he was coming to Hanover that weekend on some new College business to do with the West Coast alumni and would be attending meetings as well as staying at the Inn. Bud left school at the end of sophomore year due to being out of money (you remember the Depression?) but went on to finish at Michigan. He has been retired for six years from a partnership in Coopers and Lybrand, having spent a number of years in Detroit, then moving to open an office for the firm in San Diego. Among his hobbies is an interest in Bonsai cultivation. He was able to get away to join us at the Tommy Dent affair and it appeared he enjoyed it enough to give an unqualified yes to our 50th! We got a note from Lem Bowen, who had gotten together with them for dinner and remarked how nice it was to see them again.

Several Dartmouth alumni graced a recent 50th reunion of the Horace Mann School classes of'32, '33, and '34. From left to right are Lanny Moore '37, a non-Dartmouth wife, Rog Harrison'38, his wife Patti, a non-Dartmouth Horace Mann alumnus, and Moore's wife Flo.
