The class executive committee held its annual fall meeting before the Cornell football game in October. The main item on the agenda was our tenth reunion, scheduled for next June 15,16, and 17. Reunion Chairman Roger Clarkson outlined preliminary plans for some of the festivities picinics, dinners, business-card swapping, cocktail parties, career one-upmanship, and a dance, as well as tennis, golf, and baby-picture competitions with the classes of '73 and '74, who will hold their reunions with us. (For an indication of what a fun bunch of alums the '73s and '74s are, please refer to the two preceding columns.)

The fifth reunion was a lot of fun, and the weather in Hanover at that time of year is always terrific at least it seems that way to those of us from northern climes. There are already 110 "definitely will attend" cards in hand a great start. So let's hope all your vacation itineraries for next summer include a stop in Hanover on June 15-17. I'll be including monthly reports on Roger's plans for the gathering as they develop. It promises to be a good time!

The meeting also included Rick Waddell's financial statement for the past year, which will be reported in Cate Waddell's next newsletter. Jeff Bennett, our star fundraiser (see last month's column), presented the outline of plans for the reunion-year drive. Also attending the meeting were Grant Healey, JimReynolds, Mark Hinman, and the diminutive Frederick Waddell Jr., who seemed more interested in his bottle than in the discussions. Gib Palmer, Blake Winchell, and a cast of dozens gathered around the '75 beer keg before the game.

Brad Margeson called from Phoenix, Ariz., recently. He and Debbie celebrated the birth of Megan Caroline on September 7 or maybe it was just Brad who did the initial celebrating. At any rate, they moved from Maine to Reno, then to Phoenix, where Brad now works as a geologist for the Callahan Mining Corporation. From time to time he sees PeterWolcott, the class's Ancient Mariner.

Brad asked about Mike Peters's whereabouts. He was last seen at the Margesons' house in Reno. The telephone connection was bad but I thought I heard Brad say something about a missing station wagon and $200 in telephone bills. Where are you, Mike?

Chris Cirgenski, a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design, was named president of WPG Design Group, the New York architectural and design subsidiary of the real estate firm of Williamson, Picket, Gross Inc. As a member of the architectural firm of Rafael Vinoly, Chris helped to design Lincoln West, the largest privately financed real estate venture ever undertaken in Manhattan. He was responsible for the schematic design and development of the infrastructure of the 76-acre mixed-use site. Chris has also worked in Greece, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Annapolis, Md, He's married to Elizabeth Counihan, also an architect, and lives in Manhattan.

Department of Miscellany: David Wendell, star vocalist of the undergraduate folk group Bitterroot and lately vice president of new business development at the Saga Corporation in Palo Alto, Calif., was married to Catherine Quist in Woodside, Calif., this past September. Catherine is a corporate loan officer with the First Interstate Bank of California in San Francisco. The wedding notice mentioned an obscure fact: David is a descendant of Sylvanus Thayer, who founded either the dining hall or the engineering school. Or both.
